From what I've heard it, they were getting absolutely destroyed in the pre-order numbers.

No, I want YOUR theories, your thoughts on the subject. I don´t even know, maybe low pre-orders, but I don´t have any numbers to back it up. The bad press and reactions seems to be a plausible reason too. Also, that they planned this all along can be a answer. I really don´t know and I wish to read every idea that each Vgchartz member have on the subject.

My only problem was the blocking of used games everything else was fine. But I'm sure MS isn't the only one back tracking. (MS fans)

I'm pretty sure they never cared about bad press, and they didn't imagine that bad press would make them lose preorders even though it was pretty obvious.
