YAY BUTTONS!!

I am not a native English speaker. Apparently, I pronounce words differently. Voice recognition softwares usually don't recognize what I am saying.

Old ladies like to talk to their TVs, but done by younger people is CREEPY!!!

lol so people actually like the less convenient way... I bet you people probably would have been the same guys saying, DVD is a gimmick you prefer VHS, or GUI is a gimmick you prefer command lines, etc etc.... preferring a button than a handsfree feature makes absolutely no sense, it's like saying I would rather walk 3 miles than be teleported to that 3 miles away destination.... you guys make no sense at all

How do you define "convenient"? The last time I tried the Kinect's voice command, it didn't work out very well. Same with Siri on my iPhone. That doesn't always work out well either. Buttons always work.

This is commercialism at it's finest trying to make you think it's something new you're doing. It's so pointless, unless you're blind or something, this adds nothing to your experience.

Well since Kinect one is already faster and more convenient for my use today when it's available for most situation... I have no doubt the new one will improve on that...

Today I don't need to scream for it to work... it has a pretty low rate of error and is already faster than the pad if that one is not on or in my hands...

Trolling... first won't work, but even if does, people in my house know better than to even try and I don't see the difference with the button they can just as well troll by pressing... actually even more since Kinect 2 won't listen to the troll

Now let see...

You guys come home, walk in the living room, seat down, grab the tv remote turn it on, grab the AVR remote turn it on, select the right input if it's not on the right one, grab the pad, press the power button, go in your game library, go through x number of games, select a game press start, done

I get home, walk in the living room, say Xbox on, go grab a beer, say Xbox play forza 5, say Xbox snap friends list, open my beer, Xbox send game request to xxxxx, grab the pad done in less time you did all your button mashing if not faster.... but true your old ways are more convenient.. whatever... sigh

And don't get me started on app snapping, dashboard, menus and library navigation.... I could make dinner for twelve while you waste your time on your buttons.....

It's like on phones... I don't know about siri or s voice but on my Lumina I use it fine almost every day while driving to make calls send text and even take notes and it works quiet well, it's more convenient and especially safer than toying with the phone when you are supposed to keep your eyes on the road...

But hey we'll know fast who is stubborn next gen.... the one we'll have to wait on in games lobbies because they'll be lost in menus... I hope they'll have an option to block button masher/time waster... I have console to play games and consume entertainment not waste time in navigation and wait on hard headed people....

since were talking about kinect, why not include motion control

btw, i wonder if kinect can detect snapping fingers? cause i'd like to turn the TV on & off at the snap of a finger :)

If you know where the thing you are looking for is button is pretty much just as fast as voice control, but let say you forgot were you can't find a game or a movie in your console for whatever reason voice control might be a lot better

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I already have Kinect for the 360 and both come in handy. I'll browse Netflix with the controller because the voice commands are too cumbersome. From that point on, it's just too convenient to talk to it.

How do you browse movies with voice commands? Kinect scroll down? lolz

That's about the gist of it, yes.  Then, when the thing you want to see pops up, you ask the console to play it.  I use the controller for that, though.  I use either voice or gestures for fast forward, pause, next episode (if the next episode doesn't start automatically for some reason), etc.  I prefer using it for music than movies, though.  I can just say "Xbox Skip" or something.  Then again, I've been using my cell phone for that, lately.  I downloaded the Smartglass app, and when the Xbox plays a song I don't like, I just skip it like I have it on my phone.  Even when I'm on the other side of the house!

Voice... you people can all say button.. but we all know how it goes in real life

I'm guessing you didn't even read the OP.  Also on top of those points imagine your playing a game and someone walks in and says "Turn the xbox off."  All the xbox will hear is xbox off and shut off.  Also comparing VHS and DVD to pushing a button and saying a phrase makes no sense and holds no merit.

The made up scenarios lol. Just lol

What would you do if a person tripped over your power cord or intentionally cut your box off? Lol dude
