Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One Records the Last 5 Min of Your Gameplay (PS4 15 Min Confirmed)

That would take up alot of space if you played every day

It's not like that.

The last five minutes is always in constant reconding... so it use fixed and reserved space... if you want you edit and save that video in other place in HDD (that require space).

Official PR is 15 minutes.

Ok, someone who wants to record LP's still needs to use a capture card on the Xbone? Nice job, MS.

The competitor offers 15 minutes which isn't that long, either.

Most LP's are ~15 minutes, that's enough.

EDIT: If 7 minutes for PS4 are true - Nice job, Sony. Equally useless for at least 90% of the people who would actually put the feture to good use.

Oh, but this will require internet-access and a decent one, indeed, to share. Sadly this feature will only be available to a certain amount of people in the world, not everyone has fast internet, some even don't have any access to the internet. MS really is excluding more features to gamers all around the world again, it's getting worse every day...

Lets be honest, if you are going to be uploading video to share with other people around the world then a pre-requisite for that is Internet access, decent Internet access.
Those who don't have it, tough luck, you can always record footage via a capture card for offline storage anyway.

The alternative is Microsoft forgoes such functionality completely and people will still find a way to complain about it anyway.

I'm fine with some things on the Cloud/Internet, the beef I have is when it's forced upon me requiring a constant connection, this does no such thing, you have a choice.

But only a third of what PS4 will record.

I wasn't aware PS4 did it. But can't you turn off these features? I wouldn't use them. I have no interest in creating videos.
