lol no, but fighting games are completely different than shooters.

And as said, its not really FTP. That type of system will work in RPG's, Mobas, and Fighting games where characters are individual and unique

Oh yeah, this just reminded me that for an F2P Gears selling characters would be the only real way to go and considering it's just a cosmetic change I can't really see many people willing to pay for it when they can just play for free.

Selling map packs would just screw up the game, chances are many people would just want to play it free so would ignore the map packs and only play on the free maps. Then the DLC maps would have significantly less people to play with and matchmaking would take longer, which then further reduces the incentive to actually pay for those maps.

Characters and map packs would be in the 50€ for Gears pro. The free updates are like modes/small things.

Also don't understand the complaint? Gears of war 2/3 had a ton of map packs, don't think many of us gears gamers were annoyed by it. in fact gears of war 2 before the map packs had more matchmaking issues :s

That sounds ridiculous. There's no incentive to spend that much money on character skins and maps for a game you can just play for free.

I'm excited for the Gears remaster. I never really played much Gears 1 online because I picked the game up around March 2008 and by that time everyone who played was already amazing and I was terrible. When Gears 2 arrived I got the game a couple days after launch so I wasn't left in the dust like the first. Now that I don't suck like I did when I got Gears 1, I'm actually pumped to play it.
