Forums - Gaming Discussion - Codename: "HANDICAP" - upcoming project

I was actually working on an Android game but it ultimately fell through cause of my busy team. Good to see there's other aspiring game developers on Vgchartz, but it seems you have a huge team and even backing and funding so you're well further into development that me and my team ever was. Good luck.

How'd you secure backing

Decided to give this one away. This scene is far more emotional than when I last showed this snippet:

Once things take off, they take off! We plan to make this one of the harder areas of the game to get through. However, you'll have to figure out why when you play it! ;)

For comparison sake, here's the older image of this particular scene.

Is that shadow like figure on the left side an enemy? The gun also looks like it comes from science fiction. Are there any aspects of that in the game?

Sounds interesting. Wish you and your team the best of luck! Ill look forward to hearing more about it in the future.

Good luck I wish you the best.

The old (TB) and Autumn look a lot better, IMO. The new (TB) model is... ugh.

How far along are you with this project, and what IDE and 3D modeling tools are you using? The models look like those DAZ 3D models, with way too many unnecessary polygons for a game. You should decimate them, but be careful doing that.

Models = a combination. We've had to cut down a lot, they're no where near as high of poly as the models in the OP, for instance (which was a simple render, anyway).

As for (TB), the old model caused issues with lighting + hair and just didn't seem to make sense for the character after a while. Autumn was very incomplete. So far, other than hair, the character models have worked out great. Then again, it's still very early in development. We can, and will, change things up where necessary.

What's the polycount, then? Looks to me like there's still way too many polygons here (v), and little in the sense of detail to show for it. They look like models for rendering, not performance-optimized in-game models.

Still, late 2015 is a long way away.

As a pointer, this scene:

.....was inspired by this one:

That's the first thing that popped into my head upon seeing that shot. Great job.

(I checked the link)

The characters, vehicle, and lighting are all solid. The only changes that could be made are to the background, but that all depends on the trailer.

I found the textures of almost everything pleasant to the eyes, except for the kiddo's face. It's creeping me up a bit. The woman's build looks good, though.
