Forums - Sony Discussion - New specs on the Sony xperia Honami 20 mp camera confirmed!

The Sony Xperia Honami will reportedly sport a 5-inch display of 1080p resolution. The smartphone is going to be powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and feature 2 GB of RAM. The 20 megapixel Exmor RS main camera will feature Sony G-lens and BIONZ image processor, but its sensor will measure 1/2.3" rather than the previously rumored 1/1.6".

The impressive snapper will be joined by a 2 megapixel front facing snapper. The smartphone will have 16 GB of expandable storage to save all those shots and will draw its juice from a 3,000mAh battery.

Sony Xperia Honami is said to be IP57 certified, which it is completely dust-protected and it will withstand a meter of water for 30 minutes. The Xperia Honami reportedly measures 144 x 73.9 x 8.3mm and will come with a great set of connectivity options along with latest version of the Android OS - 4.2. The upcoming flagship smartphone from Sony is expected to compete against the likes of other camera-phones such as Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and, more importantly, the Nokia Lumia 1020.

Sony is set to unveil its Honami smartphone at its press event on September 4 at the IFA expo in Berlin.

Why?! Why the 5 inches or more are becoming the standard for the flagship android phones?! I can barely hold and type with the same hand on my 4,3'' Xperia S ffs...

I'm going to change the phone this holiday and I would really like to get the Xperia Z or Honami but they are so freaking huge that I don't know what to do... Where are the times when the flagship was 4'' and the Mini versions were 3,2"-3,5"... Now it flipped totally the "Minis" are starting to get over 4"

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

maybe it was to kill off apple, it seems to have caught on with the larger size screens and apple hasnt caught up there yet, the galaxy note series and the oppo series have had a few succeses with large screens, sony also have the xperia z ultra which has a 6.4 inch screen

I think saying you can barly hold an xperia s is a slight exageration though, do you even lift bro?

The Nokia phone has a better camera but this has better specs overall.

Way too big of a phone and the 6.4" is ludicrous. Nobody wants to hold a tablet up to their ear.

too big and Lumia have a better camera, but this have better specs....

Decent specs, but these are camera phones and the Nokia is the better camera.

I also agree about these bigger phones too.  The 920 I have is as big as I will go, just about manageable.  5" phones are too big.

The lumia camera is very decent, I think the reason some of the specs are lower on the lumia is because it doesnt need as much to run the windows operating system as andriod does, Ios for exmaple with apple runs on a 1.2 dual core on the iphone 5 and is enough to make the operating system run smooth enough, im just interested to see how these two compare with a photo/video comparison

personally i wouldnt go above a 5 inch phone either, anything after that you may as well get a tablet, i've got a lot of phone shop experience and you wouldn't believe how popular these phones are, crazy but there is a market for it
