Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Official Xenoblade Chronicles X thread - The World is 5x bigger than First Xenoblade

If they sacrifice the story just to have a huge open world I am going to cry.. Seriously...Like, the selling point of the xeno series was always the excellent narrative.
I hope my fears are in vain, I really do.

That music in the video clips seems pretty weak, but the stuff in the X trailer seems good. Not quite up to Xenoblade levels yet though.

The second song is decent IMO, it just wouldn't fit X very much. The first song sounds completely off, though. Japanese trying to sing in German sound even worse than Engrish to me (might just me being German, though. How do you think the German parts sounded like?). The part where it's instruments only actually is pretty close to X.

I thought the German sounded terrible.  Overall I found the music sounded like cheap 80s/90s guitar rock, and not a good fit for a fantasy RPG.  I'm pretty confident that the end result will be good in X though.  Xenoblade was perfect, from the innocent theme of Coloney 9, the whismical journey beat of Bionis Leg, the mysterious magical music of the Marsh, the church-like sounds of the High Entia and then the techno and metal sounds of Mechonis.  I'd like to think that this musical author can match that kind of variety and epic themes.

The goal of Xenoblade was a huge open world, one that would be the size of real-life Japan.  One of gamings best naratives was also included, so I don't think there is anything to fear with X shooting for a huge open world.

Also, remember that Tetsuya Takahashi is first and foremost a writer, so story and theme will always come first with him.

The first GIF has been run through a saturation filter at least, though. Probably also a slight comic effect filter, judging by the edges of the rocks. Doesn't look like in the trailer at all.

The difference should be more clear now

Epicness awaits.

I have temporarily revived this thread in order to remind people of three things:
- We still aren't sure of the game's official title. Will it still be X upon release? That would be odd.
- Nintendo is being a bit vague about whether or not the game is connected (narrative-wise) to Xenoblade. I think Nintendo should be playing up the "successor to acclaimed RPG" angle. :/
- It's not too early for someone *cough* to make a sales prediction thread, I say. Heck, I made my prediction shortly after Nintendo Direct (1.6 million lifetime) and I still stand by it.

Cannot wait for this game. It is the reason I went with a Wii U this generation.

Oh wow there's an official thread for this game already?

Anyways, X is looking to be one of my most-anticipated games next year. It's crazy considering we don't even have an official name for it yet! xD

I'll be joining you in the next few months. I don't I've ever been more hyped for a single game.
