Forums - Microsoft Discussion - All I want to do is sign into my account and play some games

No, it's the principle of the situation that's annoying me, I just want to play games on my account why is it so difficult to do? They claim it's for security purpose but as a test, I tried signing into my brother's account who had his on auto sign-in and it signed in no questions asked.

Great security there buddy!!

Even if I did make a second email address, the idea of signing in, waiting for confirmation code, entering said code just so I can play a game for 1/2hr is not worth the affair, it's stupid.

I don't want to be auto signed in, nor do I want to enter bloody codes, what's wrong with the happy medium?!

Seriously dude? It's just trying to help in case your account gets locked out. One time thing. You're making such a big deal out of something that shouldn't be. I only say that because it's for security reasons.

now that I come to think of it MS is doing the big move to double security check like most major tech companies are doing right now.... it must be that.... but if you have an account you already have an e-mail tied to it don't you????
me I would give them my phone number (unless of course you are involved in highly sensible illegal activity), nah but seriously me they have a phone number from a prepaid virgin mobile plan so I'm not worried much no name attached to it and it's not like I have anything to hide lol....
or they have my junk mail e-mail the one I use for sign ups on stuff like websites and all...

but if you are really a security freak use that http://mailinator.com/

On a daily basis I receive cold calls and texts from pre recorded messages trying to sell me all sorts of junk, I have it in my head its because I give my number to people claiming they want my number for "security purposes" hence the reason I try to avoid doing it like the plague.

The part that has me pissed off the most is the fact that it was happy to let me sign in not so long ago but now it's practically mandatory, which I'm not comfortable with.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

hmm the switch to double security check occurred in the past 30 days or so with MS I believe... it's brand new I believe or at least it rolled recently in the mass market....

never got a call from MS the only thing I get is the e-mail from Xbox.com but I opted in for that....

like I said use the disposable e-mail, it works great....

They just want to link your account to your cell for better accuracy within the NSA programs running in the background... its probably because you don't have a Kinect

:p

lol I love your reversed psychology approach you are adopting papamudd....

I do have a Kinect, fine, I'll grudgingly give them access to another email address.
