Forums - Sales Discussion - Xbox One not available at Gamestop, retailers run short on next-gen

Joystiq

The Xbox One Day One Edition at Gamestop is currently unavailable, after the retailer re-opened pre-orders this weekend. All of the Xbox One Day One bundles – including Battlefield 4, Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Watch Dogs and Call of Duty: Ghosts – are unavailable for purchase.

As of July 12, Gamestop still had Xbox One bundles in stock and open to pre-order, but these retailer stockpiles are dwindling fast. Amazon is out of Day One editions, but the Standard edition is still up for pre-order. Xbox One Day One pre-orders will hit Best Buy "soon," while Wal Mart pre-orders are still live. Wal Mart, Amazon and Best Buy both have the PS4 available for pre-order, though the launch-day bundles are MIA.

So pretty much, early adopters are on board for both. Nov-december will be solid months.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I guess the rumors of shortages are true?

I wonder how much the supply really is of these.

Sell outs can signal high demand -- or short supply.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

As if there was any doubt.
Launch editions will be hard to come by, pre-orders for first few weeks of supply will be gone for sure come the holidays. I believe all systems will be hard to find till about March or so.

It's just that simple.
