they are probably taking a lose at it as it is. i really doubt the X1 would cost around 260 to manufacture, if so, then sony is making quite the profit on the PS4. so even if they dont include kinect they wouldnt be able to undercut the PS4 by 250$ or 200$ for that matter. (releasing it for 149$?! thats cheaper than a 360!)

Yeah true. hmm, I don't trust this, cause its extremely hard to believe the Kinect 2 costs as much as the Xbox One to produce.

With a $499 price, I think MS are either breaking even or making a small profit.

pretty much called all of it.... glad not to be completely out of the game yet....
now I wonder what is all that Kinect work he is talking about... would love to see what's cooking.... oh well 4 months to wait and I'll be a happy gamer.... :D now back on forza horizon

well the Dev is verified so i guess all this info is true. the thing is what exactly is "close to the price of the console" could it be that the console is 300$ to produce while the kinect is 200$? or it is more in line with 270$ - 230$?  could it be that the kinect costs more to make but is still close to the price of the console? 

but i see sony always having a price advantage, unless MS wants to cut the price after some time has passed to match the PS4 but then the PS4 would be making much more profit.

Yeah, but then not many people would pay $200+ for a Kinect, and we'd end up in an even worse position than the 360 Kinect was when it comes to support.

OT: Some of this info is quite interesting. Particularly that bit about Ryse. If it really is like Darksiders 2, I may have to keep an eye out for it. Oh, and Xbox devs didn't the know name of the system until May 21? Really? :

What? The Kinect 2 is just as expensive as the XB1?
Is MS taking a big loss on this system or what?

 

MS has way too much riding on Kinect 2.0. They could have possibly beat the PS4 this gen in terms of pricing if all this is true. $300ish vs $400. At least that is my assumption.

*sigh* I guess so. It would've been nice if it had been leaked beforehand. Maybe then someone could have let them know what a godawful name it is. I liked Xbox ∞ a lot more.
