How exactly do you figure that, considering the fact that Xenoblader was said by MANY to be THE rpg of the last gen. At the very least it was certainly considered "one of the games of the generation", to use your own words. If a standard def, DVD capacity game can do that, then what can an HD, BluRay capacity game accomplish? You do the math.

No offense then, but you really seem to need a better understanding of how 3D graphics work in that case.

DKC could not have been done on Wii hardware. DKCR was literally pushing that hardware to it's limit. Retro said as much. They said it used many times the amount of polygons onscreen than Metroid Prime 3 did. The new DKC surpasses what that game did by quite a bit. Some people seem to have a real issue with telling the differnce between similar or the SAME art style used, and actually looking exactly the same, in terms of graphical fidelity.

When you look at DKCR and Tropical Freeze, beyond the imediately apparent fur effects, you also see a lot more advanced graphical features Wii hardware could in no way have run, such as shaders, more dynamic lighting (even in the fur), a lot more polygons per model, much more detailed textures. And that isn't simply "being in HD". High Definition refers to screen resolution. It has nothing whatsoever to do with polygon count, lighting, shading, advanced texture mapping, etc.

Looking at games like Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3, they do NOT look like graphics that could have been done on Wii. Not even close. And then to say something like "X" or Mario Kart 8 looks like "HD Wii games". Yeah........I just don't see it.

Because it only won 2 GOTY awards - so as many as Spec Ops and Sleeping Dogs.

Big deal. Like reviews, GOTY awards are just a popularity contest, the glorified opinions of a small group of people.

How is it different from you saying that X looks better than TLoU?

I don't think so, of course as in case with Xenoblade, "X" has potential to be masterpiece, BUT the gaming industry in general become quite train wreck, just look at Uncharted 3 (walkthrough on Youtube is a good start) the game is absolute scrap, press A to Awesome, the least important thing to play this game is brain.

If this can be winner of some GoTY then i feat there is no market for X or Xenoblade and perhaps not even for Nintendo

I would say a big factor is the studio has to make a return on its investment, the more money they pump into the game to polish it and make it look graphically beautiful the more money the game will have to make in return. At the moment not many publishers would be willing to make such an investment....

I disagree. Uncharted 3 is awesome. And I spend dozens of hours in the MP as well.
