I really disagree. It's not that Nintendo isn't trying, but that the kind of games it makes doesn't allow for that kind of graphical fidelity and I'm not even talking about DKCTF. TLOU (despite being the masterpiece that everyone keeps raving about) is still highly scripted, Uncharted is basically like playing a movie and GoW has almost no exploration. Even when you look at FF games nowadays, in order to make the game incredibly beautiful, it was turned into a series of linear corridors. Zelda, X, and even Metroid when it finally comes will probably never beat out TLOU in terms of pure graphical fidelity because they will not be incredibly short, relatively linear games. They will be approx 50, 90, and 25 hour games respectively (if previous games are to be taken as a trend) which will put a strain on what can be done in the pre-recorded, graphically jaw-dropping department. This doesn't bother me in the least as I have never cared with Nintendo about the graphics rather than the art direction which I would prefer over even a PS4 4K TLOU. I love Nintendo's games and beautiful yet odd art style.
