Because I am saying what everybodies thinking, that with all this, MS looks worse and Sony looks better. Sony doesn't have to be mentioned at all, yet they are the direct beneficiary of all this crap.

In the end, the issue is with the government, not companies like MS complying when they order them to hand over information.

But See the Difference is that sony has not been Directly linked to NSA at ALL (unless you can prove otherwise) so Sony should look better, and here is a thought ... Why doesn't MS Stand up to the Government, i mean if you believe that their being Ordered to to this type of Nonsense with the NSA then why dont they fight back and oh i dont know Fight for the Rights of there customers. They could be looked at as Hero's for not giving into this Ludicrous situation, i mean this is all a nice thought and wish MS would do this but just because there following orders doesnt put them in the clear. I mean Hitler gave those orders to kill the millions of people (drastically Different i know) but that doesnt make it okay that the people were just "following orders".

Im saying ultimately its a gaming console and stuff like this should have no impact if its something I want to play

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Do not link the two together. Thats a cheap trick. This is geopolitical in nature...and this is getting rather out of hand.

I'm too lazy to read all your posts. So do you agree that it's a terrible thing?

I get that you still want to buy it. Stuff like that wouldn't change my mind either, but you agree that this is an evil thing to do? :p

Its bad, that much I accept. It comes down to if you believe in the greater good. Thats a totally different debate though.

It is still military in nature by trying to "Counter Terrorism", and it still does not stop the fact the two are linked as to both require to "Follow Orders". And it doesn't have to be what i said, it could be that someone told you  to spy on you the Hot nextdoor neighbor but you knew it was wrong and then you got caught but you said its okay cuz you were told to do it, does that makey it okay? No it doesn't.
Besides all that you still have not provided any other counter to my arguments, I really want to know why all of this okay for you, and I can understand giving up freedom for security.

Because, to be as simple as possible, I want to play games like Halo, even if it means that my average and legal lifestyle isn't private. Our phones and internet have been tapped for years. So really, how much control do you really have by boycotting a video game console? Apple is also in colaboration with the NSA you know.

If you are defending these corporations who are violating your rights, your loyalty is probably a little bit too high.

It's not a company thing, its a government thing.

If you believe that Sony or any other major company isn't doing the same things (again, required by government, not the company. Government is violating the rights, not the companies) then your loyalty is probably a little bit too high.
