Forums - Sony Discussion - I'm Playing the Last Of Us (will be updated/ Lots of spoilers)

Another day and another Overrated game to play, so let us begin, hope you will not get "offended" , i am not biased  as I said the same exact thing as Bioshock Infinite, so here it goes.

I'm actually liking this game more than I first did.

====================================================

- at this moment I have stopped playing when they kill Robert.

- I'm at the point where you're with Billy and Ellie going to a highschool

5/06/2013 update

Okay lets start with the bad stuff first, so far everything is very predictable, the game uses too many reused "Survival horror" tropes, you know something is going to happen before it happens, and the thing about why everything is happening is also predictable

another thing , the AI still is a dumb one, especially humans, they take way too long to notice you right in front of them, and they always ignore your partners bumping into them or even running like idiots all over the place, it makes the intense aspect of hiding a very silly thing

As for glitches, I ran across a couple of them one "Runner" got killed and floated in mid air.

another glitch was at a part where you swim underwater after having ellie sit on top of a board then she lowers a ladder down to you , for some reason I couldn't get on that ladder until i dove under and back up.

another glitch was when you meet Billy there was a scene where he gives you a homemade bomb , right after ellie got stuck behind a door while speaking really far saying "He is talking to himself isn't he?" I found it funny , of course she reset after the cutscene

Now for the good part, I am enjoying this game quite a lot really, the second half of the game is way much better than the first half, sure its still "Linear" but its as enjoyable as Tomb Raider (a game which I enjoyed quite a bit and favored it over Uncharted 3, I still dislike U3 )

I really like the upgrading system, and resources , but I would have liked if its more deeper than that.

also there is a part where they go into the woods and another part where there is a dried out pool that reminded me of Uncharted 2 a lot, I was hoping there would be an U2 easter egg where i go in the pool and he'll be like "MARCO!" and Ellie would be saying "POLO!"

and since we're on the subject of Ellie look at this "Glitch" its not actually a glitch just something I did that made the game derpy a bit.

Ellie is supposed to accidentally break the vase, I however on my first play saw the out of place shiny vase and thought it was a trophy or something (like Tomb Raider's Lanterns) so I shot it and this is what happened.

Original thread

you first play as Sarah, at first, and you thats pretty cool, then the cliche hits you right in the face the first five seconds into the game, haven't we seen this a million times before? , people run away, gets eaten by zombies "omg did you just shoot him?! he was alive in the morning !" , skip five minutes and the painfully obvious and forced drama scene comes out and the real game start...

Woopidity fucking do the game starts and there is a million cutscenes , or should I say non-interactive "move slowly as they talk about random stuff"Gameplay" and then tutorial as if the game isn't easy enough as is, they give you tutorial saying "Killing stealthy saves you ammo!" and that happens what? 5 times already? we get it, Stealth means saving bullet we are not dumb its obvious logic, and here is another thing, the stealth in this game is so broken its laughable, the AI is dumb and my partner AI (Tess here) is like invinsible, she talks loud and runs loud and even bumps into the enemy AI and they're like "So ... the weather is fine NO ONE IS GOING TO KILL US OR ANYTHING" , and thats the human AI , if thats how bad the human AI i can't wait to see the "Blind" clickers.

Moving on I noticed this gimmick about the sneaking thing , the guy is standing right infront of me and haven't seen me because the music goes like ..duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN and when it reaches it's climax he will finally be "oh there is a person alright" ,its not like on MGS where its like " ! " and then he actually reacts , no the guards here are all smoking weed and have the slowest reaction to anything ever, you can literarly finish the game by running and punching everyone on lesser difficulty , because by the time they react they're already dead, this issue was the same on Uncharted, its even worse here since there is that slow reaction thing.

as for the storyline so far, yeah its very cliche, everything seems to be like a Walking Dead episode, ironically since the Walking Dead video game isn't like that , and it was more immersive.

Oh and by the way, I ran into 2 (Minor) glitches so far in just 10 minutes or so that I played (after they kill robert) , one of them was Tess getting stuck into the wall while talking during one of those "can't move anywhere fast" cutscenes, and the other is one of the enemy AI endlessly walking to the wall after I threw a brick at it.

Game of the Generation

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

I smell tons of bullshit here.

To sum up:
-cliched story
-broken stealth
-glitches and exploits (none of which I ran into aside from autosave glitch)

The only part I somewhat agree with is that the opening is meh and some aspects of the story are cliched (which doesn't make it bad but ruins the potential for an otherwise outstanding story). I can understand not thinking it's all that great, but it sounds like you went into the game wanting to dislike it and now you're grossly exaggerating every possible flaw you can find.

edit: also, yeah, the friendly AI can suck, but it's not even close to breaking any mechanic; at worst it occasionally breaks the immersion. A big chunk of the game is played solo anyway.

Play on Survivor. Don't judge the enemy AI when you're playing on normal difficulty LMAO. What a complete joke.

EDIT:  I see you're from Kuwait.  I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and hope that English isn't your first language.

I'm not offended by your point of view.

I AM offended by your horrible writing style.

I wrote this while playing the game so its just first impressions, and its rushed ,  my English is fine if I say so myself, and yes its not my first langauge.
