Forums - General Discussion - Are white Americans De-evolving?

racism defined: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

If white was replaced by any other color it would be as such and rightfully so.

i would NOT suggest ANY race is De-evolving. Culture, yes.

I am VERY offended. The fact that people can even say such things about white people shows the extent to which racism is no longer directed at minorities, but by the minorities at white people, and by white people at themselves. Shame on you spurgeonryan. Imagine if somebody made a thread saying, "Are Black Americans De-Evolving?" There would be outrage. And there should be outrage about this.

And the worst is, white Americans are decreasing in population now. They simply do not breed enough.

Inaccurate, because it categorizes Hispanic whites as "Hispanic" (which is not a race) rather than as "white" (which is one).

This is true.

In the same token, however, how many Hispanics living in the United States are actually white? The majority are mestizo. Most white hispanics stay in their native countries, since they're the top of the food chain anyways. It's mostly the country folk, a.k.a the ones with heavier Amerindian decent that immigrate to the U.S. since back home they have it much worse than their whitey counterparts.

My point I don't think white hispanics in the U.S. make a large enough percentage to effectively skew those numbers.

AFAIR for quite some time Hispanic or Latino was considered a race in US census, which is admittedly outdated definition from stricly anthropological point of view and only if you count the most generic racial types (there're many subraces which effectively make Hispanic a different race or races). But strictly for purposes of the census which reports racial and ethnicity dynamics it is very useful to differentiate white non-Hispanic from white Hispanic Americans, as these are two very different ethnical categories. So traditionally white doesn't include Hispanic. BTW "white" ain't no proper term as well, it's Caucasoid or Europeoid in other languages.

i hope this is sarcasm...

as an asian who is in america right now... i still think i live in a white men world...

white men just get promoted like people buy pancake....

choose a white college drop out with less experience to get promoted over a post grad educated asian guy with vast experience.... yeah story of my life....

You know that Asian-Americans have a lower unemployment rate and on on average make more money than White Americans, don't you?

Check here for wage differences (p. 22/40) http://www.census.gov/prod/2011pubs/12statab/income.pdf

Check here for unemployment differences: http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t02.htm

Notice that Asian people make more and have lower unemployment.  Tell me, is it because Asian people are more intelligent than White people? (Imagine if somebody said White people were more intelligent than Black people and that's why they made more!) Or is it because of systemic discrimination toward Asian people against White people?  Either way, your argument of it being a 'white men world' is ridiculous and not supported by evidence.

Most aren't mestizo, actually. Over half identify as white, and that goes for both native born and immigrants in almost exactly the same proportion.

So to take a full 8% of the total country's population and cram them all into the same group with others as if an Italian Argentinian and an Afro-Cuban and a ladino from Guatemala are all the same racially... is kind of bizarre. The government doesn't do anything well, and ethnic bean counting is no exception.

Uh, I think living in the US where there are far more minorities would be an assumption with reverse racism. Especially those who lives part of the country where a national minority is the local majority.

It isn't. It's a separate box. You check what race you are, and then you check whether or not you are Hispanic.

It isn't really a terribly useful differentiator, either, because different Hispanic ethnicities vary as much from group to group as Hispanics do from non-Hispanics. In other words, you are no worse off grouping Hispanic whites with other whites than you are grouping all Hispanics into one group.
