Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4's digital library lets you play your games anywhere & on anyone’s console

Current gen has this already.

Worst better on 360 though because the marketplace content, less restriction and obviously vastly superior download speeds.

PS3 on the other hand doesn't need that annoying 2 - 3 minute profile update thing the 360 needs when you play on another console

I guess you missed the point that on the ps4 you can play your games while they are downloading so it's MUCH better than anything on the 360. Also on the ps3 you can gameshare with a friend so both can play online at the same time. So it's either play your game on any console vs gameshare. I prefer gameshare.

Sony cracked down due to complaints from publishers on gamesharing; so now you're limited to 2 playstation devices that you can gameshare to and even then some games won't allow you to both play at the same time- that's why I was extremely doubtful about Microsoft's family sharing (which was basically the same thing times 2). This seems to be a compromise between gamesharing and the system ps3 recently adopted- you can play your games on any ps4 as long as it's your account only (as in you won't be able to play the game on a friend's account) and it'll probably be limited so that only 1 account can be signed in at any time- or one account can't be playing the same game. Of course getting the physical copy of the game works around whatever possible DRM.

Its the little features Live has over PSN that differentiated them. But the average 360 gamer (including me), didn't know things like this to use it as a talking point. lol damn

Now that Sony caught up, the windows closed :(

why are you obsessed with arguing about video games? its like every piece of info or news you come across you think about how to use it to bash sony or defend microsoft

How will they pull this off?
Can you be offline on the console of a friend? What will you do when your ps4 breaks and you log into your new ps4?
You must be able to play offline. So how exactly will they do this?

wait so the one cool feature microsoft had. Which they took away when they removed drm, sony come along and show its easy without drm. hahaha

no...

what microsoft offered was the ability to play every game you bought at retail without taking the disc with you. you could download a digital version of your retail games anywhere on any xb1 without needing the disc. this now is about the digital purchased games, something consoles have already this gen except for the possibility to start playing while downloading (i believe tlou has this option as first game)

and microsoft had the family share stuff which has not really something to do with this now since it's about you playing your games.

Gosh, I just assumed the PlayStations could do that. I didn't know until last month the PS3 was limited to two - as my friend had to buy another copy to play cause his other PS3 had broken (it was his 2nd one.) It had broken and he couldn't deactivate it or something like that.

Seems like a no brainier to me As other have pointed out X360 has had this for years. And it really doesn't take long to download most games - even on my slow 15mb/s cable. Plus, you can often do something else and it will download in the background.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!
