Forums - Nintendo Discussion - More Key Third Party Games Coming To Wii U

Probably Call of Duty: Ghost but the WiiU version won't have dogs...

Ghosts is one most likely. GTA5 is possible with ports other next-gen at a later time. After that I would suspect games from Capcom, Konami or Square Enix. They may also consider Mistwalker's next title 3rd party even if Nintendo publishes it like Last Story.

Kingdom Hearts III !!!

Maybe there is a developer called "Key" or something. I'm sure they don't mean prominent...

Gimme three more horror games and I will buy it.

Fatal Frame 5 would be a dream come true.

The 90something % of the Fatal Frame IP belongs to Nintendo, I don't think it will count as a Third Party game.

OT: The "small number" bit is saddening. Ghosts is probably one of them, the other(s) will probably come from japanese devs which may or may not get launched outside of Japan. Maybe a Tales game or something.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

No, it's Kirby's Epic Yarn 2, developed by Namco.

Not in a mean way but I kinda hope they are multiplats I dont want to have to buy a new console for 1-2 games that I cant get else where.

It's getting to the point where I really don't care about third party support on the Wii U. It was a nice dream, just like the beginning of every Nintendo console cycle where hope springs eternal, only to be squashed later on. This time is just happened a whole lot quicker.

The types of third party content I'd be interested in would be exclusive content, and developers can't afford to make anything significant exclusive on the Wii U (see the Rayman debacle), it just never will make sense when at bare minimum pretty much any Wii U game could be ported in some way to 140 million PS3/360 owners.

I would be interested perhaps in more developer alliances, like Nintendo teaming up to maybe bring back some forgotton/semi-retired third party IP like Megaman or Contra or Ghouls N' Ghosts though and more deals like the Bayonetta 2 one. How about a Last Story 2? The first one wasn't bad.

Key makes me think GTAV.

You would think multiplats would be largely inconsequential in terms of end of the year sales all things considered, but I think if GTAV DOES end up launching with PS4 and ONE (obviously a next gen version has not been officially announced) with no version on Wii U, that would be seriously damaging to the Wii U in it's most crucial holiday, and possibly Nintendo's most crucial holiday ever.

I think something like GTA is much more likely to get people to jump on board next gen, as opposed to something like CoD, which seems to look the same regardless of gen and depends so largely on multiplayer/existing install base. A Wii U version, despite an obvious graphical difference, would at least ease the pain and offer a viable solution to all the younger people interested in Mario games on top of GTA that can realistically only hope to convince their parents to buy them one new console.
