METAL GEAR SOLID 4

That's one of the most cinema-heavy games out there.

I know but you only mentioned TLoU and HR in the title ;)

Smartarse. :P

Metroid Prime. There's only one voiced line in the entire game: "Evacuate immediately". Yeah I played that game way too many times

Just for the record, I dont think cinematic presentation is a bad thing as long as you get to play the game for a very big chunk of the whole experience.  I think TLoU is the best "cinematic" game in that aspect.  You have hrs of hrs of awesome gameplay.

Also, I really think that in order to have a deep moving story; a great narrative (cinematics in important moments) is a must.   Even games that have not so deep story; it get a bonus if they have great cinematics that complement the gameplay.  The games that have my most beloved gaming characters have cinematic presentation :D

For example in DMC1/3/4:  It does not has a deep nor elaborated story; but the badass cutscenes make the game more awesome :D

Off-topic: I really think a Silent Hill game with a similar TLoU approach can be really awesome (considering Silent Hill already had a cinematic experience to begin with).  I really hope that Konami is assembling other Team Silent in order to make a game with the Fox Engine.

Not moving but I was quite attached to some of the Baldur's Gate NPCs which were very well done for their time.

Sakara Wars: So Long my Love was the most emotionally moving in that (SPOILER ALERT!) after wooing your woman of choice all game and then the main villian wipes them out, even though you knew it was coming from a mile away, it still elicted a base emotional response where I was actually pissed off and hurt by it.

I hate cut-scenes. Fine for a few quick seconds, to set the action, otherwise, I'd rather watch a proper movie.

Why? It's one of the best game's I've ever played and the final fight was awesome but in terms of story telling, there wasn't anything special there in my opinion.

Both "Another Code" games; also Hotel Dusk and Last Window. Another Code deals mostly with death of loved ones and the resolution of longing for their passing, whereas the Kyle Hyde sagas motivate me to get stuff done, because that guy has the shittiest luck when he's not in full-on detective mode.

All of these titles are presented like traditional "Point and Click" games, and the amount of reading required keeps them comfortably distant from "cinematic".

Great choices. Lots of other DS games doing it with text, graphics, and subtle audio, too. Phoenix Wright and Ghost Trick have their moments, TWEWY. I keep meaning to dig into 999, which I gather also has a solid story.

A lot of the most emotional moments in recent Fire Emblem games came outside cinematics, too. If only because the voice work can be pretty awful in the Radiant games.

Just to be weird, I'll throw in Punch-Out!! Don't you just want to pound down some of those arrogant bullies or wipe that smile off the face of ultra-annoying Disco Kid? It's not the intros that get me, it's the mid-fight taunts that get my blood up.

Metroid Prime. Not so much for the story, but for the atmosfere,
I'm playing RE (Gamecube) and i find more interesting the story told by the text in exploration than by cutscenes.
I dont think cinematics as a very elegant way to told a story.
