Forums - Sony Discussion - What do you think of the ps4 launch lineup?

So?

Bad 21 15.79%

Terrible 5 3.76%

A lot better then PS3. One thing people should have learned by now is that the lineup at first means nothing. PS3 had a terrible launch lineup but now has arguably the best library of the three machines.

I'll be grabbing Killzone for sure, and a lot of the "cross gen" titles for PS4.

Compared to the ps3 launch lineup, excellent.
The PS3 I initially bought for blu-ray and ended up playing ff12 on it and the GT HD concept demo. I did buy Resistance and RR7 with it, both not great.
This time KZ SF, Knack, Drive club and Watch dogs all look interesting.

It is a bit meh. You can see that for anyone on the fence they look at the 3 launch games, Knack, Drive Club and KZ, they could easily turn around and get NfS, AC and CoD/BF

The main problem is that all the big 3rd party titles are still on PS360, so those aren't going to really convince anyone

Sony hasn't really ever had an actual system sellers beyond Gran Turismo. Maybe Uncharted or God of War is getting there, but I am far from convinced. What got people buying PS3s was just the weight of the library.

The other thing to note is that you don't need system sellers to push your new console initially. The hardcore gamers will buy it for the first few months just because it is an exciting new console. Then when you get to March, that is when you want your system sellers, so there comes inFamous and Destiny.... with a little bit of extra content (together taking on Titanfall)

Personally, I will be getting Watch Dogs, Killzone, NfS Rivals (ahead of Drive Club) and maybe AC depending on the release date (if late November, I'll get it on PS3)

Sony better announce something at GamesCon, because looking a year past launch the Xbone has Halo and Titanfall, Sony has inFamous and some Destiny exclusive content, time for Naughty Dog to work their magic!

It is also important that 3rd parties move on from current gen to get people moving across, even if it does hurt them financially in the short term. Most important of all, release GTA V for next consoles R*!

With the exclusives, it's certainly "meh". 3rd party games make up for it, but you can get most of those on other systems as well. So is it worth for the average consumer to rush out and pay £400 or so to get the system with a game? That I do not know.

The most important thing, as we have seen with the other next-gen systems, is the games released which follow the launch of the system to maintain the momentum. For now, it seems promising. Though I still think the likes of the 3DS and maybe 360/PS3 will outsell the new systems this holiday season.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Bad. The token racing game doesn't impress compared to other offerings next gen. Killzone is a dead franchise, even SF this has new settings and weapons, I'm not confident Guerrilla games can do engaging gameplay like other developers. Knack looks last gen. InfamousSS looks very good, but the second game had horrid pacing, mission design and boring story and characters.

Out of all the games they had, I only liked Infamous: Second Son. Everything else was either pretty meh or unimpressive.

I won't judge until i know the full launch line up but it's decent so far

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Its okay, what we want is a continual flow of games anyway.

It has a varied launch lineup of exclusives so i aint going to be one to complain.

I will get Killzone, need to see more of knack.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I think it's pretty so-so for my tastes personally. I think Driveclub and Knack just look very generic. Looking forward to Killzone though.

Outlast is my favourite launch game though, but it's only console exclusive so I don't know if it counts.
