I just used google translator, thank you for the message!

Eu quero aprender árabe pois pretendo seguir carreira diplomática, além de ser uma língua bela é muito necessária nas relações diplomáticas e poucos sabem.Obrigado pelo incentivo!

In my native language for ya!

English is my mother tongue. I had to learn Spanish at school but wasn't very good at it. I want to learn a few European languages like German and Russian but also some Asian ones like Mandarin Chinese and possibly Japanese (so i can import Japanese games). But I think learning Chinese will be especially helpful in the future.

Yeah, Chinese grammar is very simple, but the writing system is really hard.

Yeah the Chinese alphabet is like 100 characters and i heard there's two version. It's pretty crazy.

But how do you learn languages? I was terrible at learning a new language while at school, but i guess that's because it was forced on me

Ooh another language lover. That's pretty cool. I'm an enthusiast you see. Love to learn languages and study their story. I speak Portuguese, English, Spanish, a reasonably good German and basic French. Currently I want to improve my German beyond the Zertifikat Deutsch, to keep learning French and then, after I'm done with both, finally my long-sought dream of learning Mandarin. The grammar seems pretty simple, but the writing... eh. Also, Arabic.

It's actually closer to 4-5 thousand characters. And yeah, Most of China uses simplified characters, while Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau uses traditional characters. I take classes for most of my languages (the exceptions being Chinese, Japanese, and Esperanto), and I try to read and watch things that interest me (ex. I watch Let's Plays in French and German), and I write things over repeatedly. I also try to join forums for other languages.

Double post, sorry.
