I think the hardcore gaming console this gen is definitely PS4. Now I do think that the PS4 will do a lot better than the xbox one, especially in the launch window (where I think it might sell close to 2:1), but I don't think it's going to be selling in the ratios that these internet polls are showing. If the polls showing sony with 90% of the vote were accurate to the real number of sale, it would be an even bigger slaughter than the PS2 vs xbox.

What about poor hardcore gamers?

If i were a Xbox fanboy and i see a poll with a result like that..., i wouldn't even bother vote in it. At the end, only ps4 fans vote and the % gets bigger and bigger.

And i'm not trying to defend xbox one, i'm pro ps4, but i think that this kind of polls don't count the people that see the poll and don't vote it, because they don't like the results in it.

I still doubt even that. $400 or $500 plus a game or 2 is a pretty big investment. A lot of hard core gamers are going to have trouble sinking that much money into it just because they can't afford it. That being said, basically all of my  close friends have current gen consoles, and only one of them (of 10 or 15 people) is going to get an xbox one. I'm getting a PS4 with shadowfall day 1, can't wait!

@Talal and Pezus:  I might have said it wrong. A hardcore gamer plays all games he can. I've only owned a 360 the seventh gen, but I've played almost every single exclusive out there, from Wii and Ps3 too.

Gamers go where the games are and from what I've been seeing MS has some very good arguments on their side there, so I expect sales of PS4 and Xb1 to be quite close.

If their population on gaming forums are anything to go by, Xbox fans don't really partake in internet fan wars.
