Forums - Gaming Discussion - The greatest game developer of the 7th gen?

The 7th generation of (home) consoles is coming to an end. Which developer, in your opinion, excelled above all others? You can take such factors as metacritic ratings, sales, number of good games etc. into account if you like.

In my opinion it was Naughty Dog. They made 4 games on PS3, 3 of which were 90+ rated and the 4th being very close to 90. Uncharted 2 was also 2009's definitive GOTY title, while TLoU has a good shot at being GOTY this year. What's yours?

Naughty Dogs, Quantic Dreams, Epic Games and Rising Star games.

Bethesda Softworks.

3 games this gen, 3 times GOTY.

Hard to choose one...
SE was amazing on the handheld front. Dissidia 012 is the ultimate love letter to the FF fan.
NIS was amazing anywhere.
tri-Ace produced RoF and SO4, enjoyed both immensely.
Atlus gave us something as amazing as Catherine.
Sucker Punch made InFamous 1/2, the best Sony first party titles of the gen IMO. Uncharted? LBP? Didn't enjoy either nearly as much.
From Software made gems like the next-gen Armored Core games, and Dark/Demon's Souls.

They'd be my top devs for the gen. Though, I've yet to REALLY get into it ^.^

I found RoF to be enjoyable, but the story was from bad to worse in every chapter.

Naughty Dog should be up there.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Naughty Dog hands down for me, the Uncharted series and The Last of Us have been more emotional and endearing experiences rather than just games to play.

Playstation gaming for 18 years this 2012 Smile

Stopped caring, from chapter to chapter :P Gameplay was king. Where else can you have a six-barrel gun, with 3 grips, and 14 scopes? ^.^b

Fun shit. Good music too.

For some reason I forgot Nintendo in my original post. I've not played much Wii titles by now, but Wii Sports/Resort is one of the gens' definitive experiences. Tennis and swordfighting rule. Xenoblade is still waiting until I free up some time.

Retro Studios. Metroid Prime 3, DKCR, and some work on MK7 inbetween. It's not quite as long a list as someone like Naughty Dog, perhaps, but the sheer quality of the titles they produced (I would put both Corruption and DKCR in my Top 5 list of 7th gen), as well as their work on revamping the control scheme behind the first two Primes and making them even better, boosts them to the top of my list.
