The first one is a total mess. Launch title vs sequel 5yrs later. Plenty of time to improve the controls^^

Makes sense.

Zombie U would probably be a better game if they too allowed IR controls.

Did you know that you could use IR controls in the multiplayer mode? Or did you mean like allowing them in Story Mode? They worked pretty well in multiplayer though. Getting headshots was super easy.

Yeah, getting 100+ kills in survival MP was a joke. On the map in the city (idk what it was called) you could just use the Desert Eagle until you were almost out of ammo and the get the SMG in the same area. Impossible for your friend to spawn enough zombies to even touch you XD

No votes for MOH heroes 2, that game was actually quite good and whilst the controls arent the best on the Wii, there was some pretty good ideas implemented for wiimote use.

Yeah, Heroes 2's use of motion controls is still among the best on the system to me; pumping the nunchuk to pump a shotgun, firing it backwards on your shoulder to use the rocket launcher and hearing the speaker/feeling the vibration next to your ear, scoping in and out by "dialling" the Wiimote, all great stuff.

That and it's 60fps smoothness put it at a tied #1 with Black Ops II (less creative motion controls, but more customization) and Prime 3, (very smooth and pixel-perfect aiming, but little customization) for me.

The game was early in the Wiis life, when some 3rd parties were actually trying to think of creative ways to use the wiimote. Shame they all moved on to pointless waggle.

man, i feel like there's alot of bias here. I think metroid prime 3 was easily the WORST shooter with pointer controls. I hated having to point all the way to the end of the screen to start turning samus. However, after conduit refined the way shooters should be customized, i think all the fps's had about the same controls. COD, conduit 2, red steel 2, were all about the same. And were awesome. Still my preferred way to play an fps, but i don't think we'll see it anymore :(

Italic: Have you played Red Steel 1, perchance? :p

Bold: Mine too, but it may not be done for: COD Ghosts on Wii U may very well support it, since Black Ops II on Wii U did.

haHA, touche sir.  Mp3 at a close second.    That would be cool if ghosts did incorporate the motion controls.  I guess we'll see.

Red Steel 2. Wii Motion+ did wonders for the precision of motion controls.

That big of an improvement eh. I was trying the first one 2 days ago and getting past the tutorial felt a chore.

Red Steel 1 to Red Steel 2 is one of the biggest improvements of any sequel in my experience, controls being the biggest improvement, but almost everything else seeing a dramatic step up in quality too. The first game was awful, the second is actually pretty damn good.

Some later Wii games made good use of the Wiimote: Red Steel 2, LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories comes to mind.

Red Steel 2 and Skyward sword are to this day still the best examples of motion control done properly. Its sad that motion controls, at present, are going to be taking a back seat.

Prime 3 Sold me on Wiimote FPS controls. RE4 sold me on 3rd Persion controls. There was no way I could ever play those games on the Gamecube any more.

Yeah, going back to dual analogue after the revelation of pointer control felt like going back of a D-Pad instead of analogue for 3D movement.

I probably won't be buying any Wii U FPS games that don't support pointer control.

I hope no one minds that I throw in a 3rd person action game into the mix.

Godfather: BlackHand Edition.

Might be the single best game for combined use of gestures and IR. That game damn near made me like EA.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Killzone 3 had some good pointer controls, too. Too bad nobody had a Playstation Move.
