Horrible idea. How are publishers going to get people to buy bad games with that strategy?

Because if the demo is good then it could get people like me who are skeptical to actually buy it. Thus creating more sales. A level or two of the game is often enough to make a decision. Sleeping dogs managed to do a demo well.

Developers should be able to decide whether or not they want to make a demo. Not every game lends itself well to demos, even if they are good games. Xenoblade for instance would be a tough game to appropriately demo.

I am against demos because they decrease sales of games.

I've never become interested in a game because of a demo, I've only been repelled.

Sony mentioned this at the PS4 reveal. You will be able to try any game instantly, with Gaikai

That'll only happen if Sony forces publishers to create a demo for every game.

Not necessarily. There are other ways, like the 60 minute Full game trials on PS3. They could have a time limit for every game.

"With Gaikai in the PlayStation Store, you'll be able to try anything instantly, Perry explained. "Simply press the X button to hop in and start playing the game," Perry said. "With Gaikai, you'll be able to instantly experience anything you want.""

This is just PR-Talk, First Party - no problem. But they have to conveince or force developers/publishers to release the demo. Not every publisher likes them.

Those who don't like demos. Can i trust your word on RPG's or anything else then? Since they never have demos. Also, is story that important in them type of games? I want to try Persona 4 the golden on Vita but not sure if i should buy the other 3 first (they are all on PSN). The same with other games like Final Fantasy. I come to understand that games like Final Fantasy (JRPG) are very different to games like Mass Effect (RPG).

It would be a double edge sword.

We could potentially have companies like say Gearbox were the demo looks nice and the final product is crap.

We already have a site for demos on pretty all the major and the majority of small games

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Not all games have 60 minutes trials. The only way all games will have demos is if Sony forces publishers.

Look at on OnLive, a similar service to Gaikai. Some games can be rented or demoed, but not all. That is up to the publisher.

How do you expect bad games to have good demos? You're being unreasonable.

Its almost like you don't want bad games making money.
