I thought F-Zero GX's difficulty was perfect. X was too easy, the hardest race should be something challenging which most people can't accomplish.

Also I hear that Platinum Games wants to make Star Fox 2. It would be nice if they made a Wii U graphics level remake of Starfox 2, and include the unreleased SNES game on the same disk.

As for Metroid, I wouldn't complain about the wait. Metroid Prime released what 8/9 years after Super Metroid? Look how awesome that was! The more we wait, the more time people have to make ideas for Metroid.

Fire Emblem - I hope not, this game is a lot better on handhelds, but there is that crossover coming out on Wii U

I'm hoping Nintendo published one more high end JRPG on the Wii U. Wii had XenoBlade, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Fire Emblem, and a half baked Tales of game. Gamecube had Baten Kaitos. I want to see something new, other then X and FE x SMT release on Wii U. Maybe a console version of FFXV.

The crossover is gonna be perfect. Atlus working on it is a great sign.

I'm skeptical. After I heard about this crossover, I bought a few SMT games, thinking that maybe it's a high quality niche RPG franchise like Fire Emblem, and that I might like it.

Nope, I hate it. I gave Persona 3, one of the best rated SMT/PSP games a try, and just couldn't stand it. Too easy, the plot turns too slowly for me, and I don't like many concepts in the game (If I don't pay attention in class, I can't socialize and improve some other stat? Why am I forced to learn in a video game!!!).

So I'm skeptical, I'd rather have had a whole new FE game, but I'm still willing to give the main SMT series a try because of this. I've been told Persona isn't really SMT.

          9. Donkey Kong- Tropical Freeze looks epic, but again, I want a 3D DK game. DK64 was awesome and imagine DK's jungle in shiny HD graphics. That  would be so awesome. Maybe bring back the DK rap?

This isn't a Nintendo game, but I always thought that Okami would be fitting on the Wii U.

PS3 got an "HD remake" of it. But it would be perfect for remake on Wii U, because "painting" on the touch screen would work FAR better than analog or IR pointer. I'd buy it.

Keep in mind that  the crossover contains Shin Megami Tensei. Persona it's just a spinoff.

Most the games you listed are niche Nintendo games and will sell like 1-2million.

For example unless star fox evolves it will be lucky to sell one million. Most the star fox gamers moved onto other consoles years ago and one game won't bring them back if its a HD rehashed N64 game.

Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, DK, Smash Bros, Mario Kart are not niche. 7 out of 10.

See I would say the following are:

Metroid (aint no halo level)

DK (just appeals to some Nintendo fans)

Pokemon (nichie for console, I personally dont knwo anyone who bought the ones that did come out on consoles)

Metroid. Cause it isn't Halo doesn't mean it can't be impressive and amazing (Retro's next game for sure, they kinda confirmed it already)

And DK, explain the nearly 6 million sales for DKCR and the good sales for the port on the 3DS?

I never said Metroid is a bad game, Nintendo could market it better and make it grow into a huge franchise on their systems, jsut like MIcrososft did with Halo.

Star fox has the same potential to appeal to a wider audience if done right.

As for DKCR and most recent ones have only sold somewhat well in the USA compared to previous installment. In other regions the game has declined even further ever generation .

Nintendo essentially needs to work out what franchises out of these nichie ones have the potential to expand their audience on the Wii U and become huge franchises likemario and zelda have.

we are not talking about any Donkey Kong Game. Donkey Kong Country. Whole other beast. DKCR is the second best selling DKC game.

Some of my thoughts;

3D Mario; should be open world like the great Mario64 with vast areas to explore and many secrets.

Donkey Kong; Yes bring back a 3D DK in the style of DK64/Banjo, that would be awesome. I really miss those collect-a-ton 3D platformers.

F-zero; All it needs is new tracks, new story mode, HD visuals, some new characters and good online system = success. And about the difficulty; i want it to be so hard that only the most dedicated gamers can fully beat the game.

Metroid; seems to get more and more linear, this must change. Should be like MP, only much more maze like where you really have to explore. Get rid of the map stations and let us do the exploring :)

Zelda; SS is a little too linear, this is bad and must change. They're looking at Skyrim for inspiration and that is definitely a good thing. Sidequests seems to get more and more watered down, bring them back to the level of MM at least, which had great sidequests.

Uh, Super Metriod aka THE best Metroid already had map stations. They don't prevent you from exploring.

I would love mario sunshine 2. Its the only mario game i ever thought was interesting enough to buy. This is mostly because of limitations on the 3D platformer genre where judging depth is difficult leading to unecessary deaths. The flood delayed your descent and allowed you to readjust your trajectory preventing this source of frustration.

But unfortunely this would also draw comparisons to the Gamecube.

Zelda, metroid (prime or 2D) and F-zero are must-have's aswell.

Mind you, beeing compared to the GC is not a bad thing in my book. It was the only other Nintendo home system i bought. It was a bloody good console game's wise. Plenty of good exclusives.

Fire Emblem would be perfect on the Wii U.

Only problem is that the core teams at Intelligent Systems are pretty dated in their abilities. I mean you only have to look at ANY of their 3D games to see, they are comfortable and never get the most out of the hardware no matter how strong it is. I have doubts that they will adapt well to HD game development without some other team doing the heavy lifting, which is probably why Nintendo is having Namco Bandai do the development of Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS, since they want the game to actually look good compared to other HD games at the time of its release.

All of this means that for those like me that are eager for a console Fire Emblem title on the Wii U, we are probably out of luck, unless they release it as a retro style eShop only title.

I've seen a lot of gameplay for SMTIII and I'm not impressed. SMT IV sales are also really slow. I'm still hopeful, I own Strange Journey for DS, and I might buy SMT IV, but for now I'm going to hold off on SMT games. Probably going to play SMT x FE first, and if I don't like that, I probably won't like SMT because I love FE.

I just figure, if they are making a cross-over, chances are they expect fans from each franchise to like both games.
