Forums - Gaming Discussion - Assassins Creed III... WTF!

I really like Brotherhood. The gameplay was much improved compared to the second, although the story was not as appealing to me.
ACII was sooo much better than the first game, which i think is why it got so much credit. But I think Brotherhood is better because the gameplay/free-roaming/combat is much improved. Not quite as big of a leap that ACII had, but it's still an improvement.
I recently finished Brotherhood, and I will start Revelations hopefully sometime soon.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I think revelations was the best one, only bcuz well you'll see =P love the story

I love history and the American Revolution but that wasn't enough to keep me playing. Glitches, poor controls, and an open world that imo was boring. The navel battles were fun tough and the story was decent.

I always wished there was an Assassins Creed in Mesopotamia. They did leave some traces to it though, with the Assyrian Winged Bull in Assassins Creed 1(Found in the covenant temple early in the game) Also the Babylonian Assassin Statue in the fort you control in Assassins Creed 2. If Assassins Creed developers choose history wisely Ubisoft could really make great stories ranging from the Chinese dynasties, Mesopotamian dynasties, even current modern dynasties. This world is probably more corrupt then ever; can you imagine a game ranging from common world affairs like Syria, Egypt, US vs Iran tensions or even Korea. With an Assassin in the mix it could be endless.

I stopped playing after 2, and googled the end of 3. I feel like the plot has become redundant, and I'm not interested anymore. Wasn't a buggy experience for me, and the gameplay is great, but what's good gameplay without a good plot?

You've done the game, the developers and yourself a major disservice there. You cannot truly understand the intensity of the emotions you would feel if we were to play all the way through all 5 games and then to experiene the ACIII's ending.

It's that bad.

No, I invested my money well, and spent my time playing better games. A close friend of mine beat all 5 games, and he agreed I did the best thing.

I saved what 60 hours not playing the last 3 games? I beat XenoBlade Chronicles in that time, time much better spent. There are a lot of better games on the market, so by spending time and money on games worth my time, I've done everyone a major service. It makes it 0.00000001% (1/10,000,000) less likely that future Assassin's Creed games get milked, and it makes it 0.0001% (1/100,000) more likely that niche JRPG's get localized. Plus now that XC is finished, I have time for Tales of Xillia and Pandora's Tower

The story wasn't very accurate to history either. When did the natives ever help americans? They were the ones who finished off these tribes.

Yeah, AC should go back in time. Do a game in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, ancient Rome, ancient Greece, Medieval Europe. All the great old civilizations.

Here's an idea maybe fans will like. A series of six AC games based on the six different Assassin statues found in AC2. That covers everything you said. Every game is a story for one Assassin and continuing the game won't seem like it's milked. Instead it'll be like a new series to follow and complete. The ideas are endless lol

I as a fan would love it.

What persons and eras do those 6 statues cover? I forgot.

I hope they don't go into WW1 or WW2 too quickly. I love war games but an Assassin's Creed in the 20th century wouldn't interest me much.

Left to right

1. Qulan Gal was a member of the Mongolian Brotherhood of Assassins, and was one of the Order's most renowned Assassins, due to his vital role in the assassination of Genghis Khan alongside Darim Ibn-La'Ahad.

2. Darius was a member of the Persian Brotherhood of Assassins during the Achaemenid Dynasty.

3. Wei Yu was a member of the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins during the Qin Dynasty, which was ruled by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, a Templar-backed tyrant who oppressed the people of China. In order to protect the people, the Assassins resolved that the land had to be freed from the Emperor's oppressive control.

4.Amunet was a member of the Egyptian Brotherhood of Assassins. On 12 August 30 BCE, Amunet infiltrated Cleopatra VII's palace. There, she killed Cleopatra using a venomous asp.

5.Iltani was a member of the Babylonian Brotherhood of Assassins during the Argead Dynasty. Iltani was a member of the Babylonian Assassins Guilds. During her lifetime, Alexander the Great conquered most of South-West Asia by using a Piece of Eden, the Staff. Some time prior to 10 or 11 June 323 BC, Iltani had poisoned Alexander the Great, who died as a result on 10 or 11 June 323 BC.

6.Leonius was a member of the Roman Brotherhood of Assassins. The Assassins concluded that the ruler of the Roman Empire, Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, commonly referred to as Caligula, was a tyrant and the land had to be freed of him. On 24 January, 41 A.D. Leonius stabbed Caligula, killing him.
