The PS3 version of PSN+ will get good support. I mean the games you downloaded will still be in your histroy.

with no BC it wont matter. you wont be able to play them on ps4

You will. Google Gaikai.

You think your downloads will be playable via Gaikai? Did Sony confirm that?

I highly doubt publishers are okay with that. It doesn't benefit them.

I don't think Sony comfirmed anything about gaikai, but I also don't know why pulishers would have a problem with that. You did pay for the games afterall and they're probably not gonna bother bringing old games to the ps4- unless they expect everyone to pay for the same game twice (which is very unreasonable). Plus it would bring more money to the publishers since people would be able to go back and purchase ps3 games even after sony stops supporting it.

I guarantee you will have to spend money to use Gaikai. Either it will be another tier above PS+ or you will have to buy your PS3 games again. They aren't just going to let you play your old PS3 downloaded library for free through a streaming service they paid half a billion for. That's why you keep your PS3.

@pezus
I doubt that will be the case. Those people wanting to keep their PS3 plus library will have to keep their PS3. A PS+ subscription covers both consoles. That is why they do this.

What will happen to ps+ in the next years with PS3? I mean at some time the support for PS3 will fade so new games that get added will also fade out or it will only get old and/or crappy games but if you quit ps+ your games will also disappear. I think at some point it won't be worth the money but you have to pay to keep the games.
Are there any details how Sony will solve this?

Hack your PS3 and games you got free through PS+ will be playable whether they expired or not.

I see no valid points made in this response.

I certainly do believe publishers will try to make you buy their games twice. Or you could keep playing them on the platform you purchased them on.

Also, if you could access your download history on Gaikai I'm imagine Sony would have boasted about it.

I think what I've already downloaded will still be available to me through Gaikai. They've already confirmed that you'll be able to play PS3 games through Gaikai.

Correction, you hope. But I don't see that happening.

Being able to play PS3 games on Gaikai and having access to your PSN download history on Gaikai is something completely different.

And Gaikai will cover both consoles as well, on a single console. There is no reason why they wouldn't do this. This would make people more inclined to upgrade from their PS3s.

Dude, the issue is the publishers.

Perhaps Sony would gladly give you access to your download history to sell more consoles. But are the publishers okay with that? I doubt it.

No your PSN info is stored in Sony's servers.

Exactly. There's this "inner clock" whenever you're connected to the server. You just can't cheat like that.

No, the time is actually set within the console but It doesn't work by date alone, it works by how many days there are left. This works independant of the internal clock so even if you changed that, it wouldn't stop the clock counting down.

You do not need to be connected to the internet to play PS+ games.

Didn't know that.

Valid points? I'm not going to argue with you.  I don't know Sony's official postion on the issue nor do I know how publishers feel about it and neither do you. Until Sony comfirms what the purpose of gaikai is, your guesses are no more reasonable than mine- I could just as easily say, I see no valid points made by this response. :)
