Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is the XBox 360 worth 99 Euro just for the exclusives ?

I suppose if there are exclusives you want, otherwise you must ask yourself whether or not you want another big plastic box in your home.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone !
I think i found the right solution for me: I will save the money for now, keep an eye on the 360 and wait for Gamescom/ after Gamescom to buy a Vita.
I´m really not a shooter fan, it would be great to play Fallout New Vegas on a console, but I can live with shitty graphics on my laptop :D....that leaves Lost Odyssey and Vesperia....on the other hand there are 3 Tales games on the Vita (albeit unlocalized/released) and the Nihon Falcom games....
The Vita library just suits my taste better !
Thanks again for the recommandations !

Alright well my advice is keep an eye out for a cheap used 360. When my PS2 broke, I replaced it with a slim for only $40 a few years back (a little after it was replaced).

Maybe you can find a 360 for 50 Euro used soon, and then you can get Vesperia and Lost Odyssey. I also strongly recommend Project Sylpheed, it only has bad scores because it's short, it's honestly like a JRPG version of Starfox.

Get a vita :) just for the psp games alone

Lol, why not just get a PSP then for 1/3rd the price, and get PSP games retail? That's what I did, just finishing Lunar off now, great system.

Wait a second, are you telling me that you didn't enjoy Dead Rising? D:

Theres nothing special about dead rising. Its basically a more limited dynasty warriors with zombies. Im sure its fun to play, but its not a must-have.

Now that you mention it, aren't there some dynasty warriors exclusive to 360 or I am mistaken?

Mistaken. There are exclusive ones for the Ps3.

At this point, I'd say no - the exclusives weren't THAT great, they were mostly valuable for their online play, which is now dwindled by now.

The one benefit though, is the games should be very cheap since it's been a long time since they came out, so you'd have a lot of gaming options for cheap.  In the end it's up to you - but I personally wouldn't - too late.

Gah, dammit. Well, he can always enjoy the shumps by Cave.

Even if you get one i would go for the 250gb version at 129 euro.

No

Most of the exclusives are the same series (Halo x5, Gears x4, Forza x4) and because you'd need pay for Gold to even get the best part of most of them, as they are just three series though you may as well only count one game from each too, so it isn't even a lot of exclusives.

But what about Fable, the Cave shumps, The Witcher 2 and Metro 2033 if his PC can't handle them, Dead Rising, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Magna Carta 2, Infinite Undiscovery, the first Condemned (though I'm not sure if that one released on PC too), a more estable and playable version of Bayonetta, Project Sylpheed, DarkStar alliance, and the whole amount of Arcades? What, don't those count?

Most of those are terrible games, and I own several of them. (I'm a 360 owner)

He'd be better off upgrading or buying a new PC, the worthwhile console exclusives 360 has like Alan Wake, Witcher 2, most the good arcade titles etc are on PC and doing that he gets a bunch of other PC only games as wel as all the other pc benefits like mods and so forth. Also games that will likely be XBone console exclusive like Titanfall.  Plus he will not need pay for Gold.

I'm a 360 owner and I have only payed for gold once. Also, I don't like Halo.

I don't know what you're calling terrible, but that's pretty much subjective. He already owns a Ps3 and a Wii, so I don't really see the problem if he wants to invest 99 euros in purchasing a 360 and playing whatever he got left. He also get the benefit of offline co-op, something that in most PC titles isn't possible.

On PC he will not need gold so can just online or LAN co-op.

He can do LAN co-op too if he knows people with 360 near him. Anyway, nothing beats Four player co-op offline in Geometric Wars 2, imo.
