they already have the cheapest next gen console, and they kind of have a market of their own. They don't need a price drop

that market is very small

What you fail to understand here, Peh-Zeus, is that Wii U is dead in the water. Nothing, not even a price cut will save it against the god-like status of The PS4.

Now, onto big man talk. Do I think Nintendo will drop the price? Um, yes. Before the PS4 Launch? I hope not. I'm pretty sure they aren't making money on the current price, so an even cheaper price will put them even further down the hole. And no one wants that except for the devil himself.

Right now what they need is a new marketing push and bundles with the already announced games that are releasing this year. This will last until Nintendo starts to make at least a penny off the console. (Then, and only then, should they drop the price.)

Did they not say at launch that once they sell two games they already make monies?

That's if they sell two games, and that wasn't even true.

They need to make money off the Wii U as a console.

Power really is the main thing the PS4 has over the Wii U. Aside from that the Wii U is a much better value for gamers.

1. Its fully backwards compatible with the Wii including both hardware and software
2. free online, meaning as long as your internet bill is paid you can multiplayer game online
3. at 350 you get a game included
4. At its cheapest its 100 dollars cheaper than PS4, and at its most expensive its still cheaper and offers a free game
5. Bigger library of titles to choose from

The PS4 may be worth it for some, but just being a regular consumer walking the electronics aisle at wal mart, Id go with the one that can do more for less. But that's just me. Nintendo has sold about 4 or 5 million consoles with no real big name titles out yet. That shows that the console has some selling power. Imagine how it will do once its big name titles start hitting in August. Its price point is fine as is.

Games are fun.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Sony fans and their constant need to express what Nintendo must do, for whatever reason, what a joke.

Just trying to help the little ones y'know.

I find it hilarious that I know 5 grown ups with Wii Us and 8 kids with PS3s XD

The price is about $50/year for online multiplayer.

50 x 10 = 500 <--- Online play throughout the 10 year plan

399 + 500 = 899 <--- Final price

Game over.

you are missing the games from the instant game collection, is multiplayer AND one game per month...lets ignore the discounts

so is

nitendo

   1 console = 350

   0 games = 0

Sony

 1 console = 400

 120 games (1 per months x 10 years) = 500

so is nintodo console 350

sony console and 120 games 899, i says fair.

the 350 one comes with a game -.-

I'm buying a PS4, but I'm sure as hell not paying for PSPlus, if I want to skip not paying for a while I lose the rights to play these so called "free" games? yeah, no deal

Wii U is going to get trampled when the PS4 launches if they dont drop the price by September. The 360 and PS3 are outselling the Wii U which means Nintendo needs to stop screwing around and cut the price in anticipation for 2014.

It does not look appealing at that price point when compared to the PS4 and what it offers from a tech point of view. But more importantly it needs games. If the Wii U could give me an onslaught of must have titles then I'd be inclined to get one sooner than next year. A price cut would not convince me to get one this year since the titles are good, but not $350 + tax good. However, if the system were to receive a mega sale on Black Friday akin to the Vita last year then I would be swayed. Barring that a price cut wouldn't move me.

they are both video games of the same gen and wii u is $100 cheaper, it IS appealing. the only ones who don't think so are the ones who would say that even if PS4 was $999.
