Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How has Nintendo done with their 1 year lead?

So?

Good 26 4.84%

Terrible 183 34.08%

Whats a Wii U? 64 11.92%

They dropped the ball. 144 26.82%

ok, could've been so much better though. 120 22.35%

Total:537

They totally dropped the ball. Only 3 million sold and I never see anything pushing the Wii U line. I own one and Like it but they dropped the ball. They need a new Marketing team, really, really bad.

WE NEED TO STOP POSTING ABOUT THE FREAKIN NINTENDO
WE ALL KNOW THE WII U FLOPPED ALREADY AND IT HAS NO CHANCE AGAINST THE OTHER CONSOLES, NOT EVEN AGAINST THE PSVITA
I am just saying, I'd rather watch Microsoft vs Sony threads than this, Nintendo is basically helpless... unfortunely.

Wii U.....its just tragic.....and what's worse I own one

Largely squandered their pre-emptive release. Sega Saturn comes to mind.

Granted, Nintendo IPs haven't been my favorites in nearly 20 years, but there just hasn't been anything released on the platform that makes me feel compelled to buy one.

By the time my PS4 arrives, the Wii-U will be nothing more than a distant second thought that I "might buy one day" if I really feel the urge to play the latest Metroid or Zelda, assuming either game is worth buying a console for.

Doing better then releasing a console a year later, be underpowered compared to the Xone and PS4 and no third party support..

kind of wonder if they were ready for it to launch in 2012. the gaps were meant to be filled in by 3rd parties but that never really happened. sure some extra sales throughout the 1 year gap will help but imagine if it launched this year with games Like SM3DW, MH3U, WW HD, Pikmin 3, Lego City, Sonic etc, and G&W pre installed like it was meant to be. It would have been a system people would have bought. now many ignore it due to fears of it being casual only with no games (at least peeople i talk to, Family/Friends etc.)

well, there's still about 40% of that head start time to go. in the end it will be a good head start that could have been much better.

games like pikmin 3, rayman and W101 were all meant to release at the system's launch. in the end it's always an advantage to release first since by the time ps4/xone launch and start their quest to prove themselves, wii u will already be positioned in the market.

they did a terrible job. But it al started with e3 2011. I was sitting behind my computer anticipating nintendo's big reveal. Then they showed some stuff and i thought to myself ''is it a controller, where is the console?''

Thats where it al began. Then the confusion came and didnt go away for a whole year.

E32012: sitting behind my computer, streaming nintendo's e3, what the freak did they do? Pikmin 3 was the highlight. No no, it cant be, but it was. They had 2 years to blow away the competition and they failed.

Now we are 8 months after release and the only games i want will be released in 2014. Its very sad. It's all about the games and they failed. So, they did a terrible job. And the most frightning thing is even nintendo doesn't know how to make use of the gamepad. Ouch.

Just awful, and might be there only chance to secure a decent fanbase. They had some decent games but just not enough.

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018
