Are they refering to dedicated servers? If so then no big deal... Resistance, a PS3 launch title, had dedicated server support which allowed 40 player battles with no host advantage... that was in 2006...

lol... so dedis arent a big deal? are is it just because ms is doing it its no big deal.  why cant we just get a 'cool' and submit.

Dedicated servers are expensive though, MS will be offering to smaller developers at a cheaper price I hope, but the big guys have their own servers.

I love this guys honesty tho, "I don't know whats going on out there" .... maybe the cloud will stop whatever it is that is going on there! we're going to use the cloud to rain on cheaters parades!

Fancy hearing me on an amateur podcast with friends gushing over one of my favourite games? https://youtu.be/1I7JfMMxhf8

Why? How does it differ from a shooter? People who hate loosing aren't going to stop because of genre. Same goes for cheating.

There is nothing to be gained using it in a racer.

Host booting is pretty widespread. Surely booting the winning racer from the game gives you some sort of advantage.

if every game has dedicated servers than xbox live is finally making its 60$ price tag worth it. i hope they do this.

I hope Sony have the ability and amount of servers to allow every single game dedicated servers. Otherwise Microsoft have a MASSIVE advantage for those who like to play online.

Knowing MS, I highly doubt all games will have dedicated server support.

How?  MS will not provide dedicated servers for every game, same way Sony will not.  Be like this gen, only MS may catch up to Sony, since Sony been doing it this gen already.

Good to see MS is still playing catch up to Sony in regards to features...

Laughing at the idea of a lag switch being used for a racing game.

You've never had a lagged opponent on a racer?

Lagging in a racer would just slow you down.  In shooters that delay allows you more time to shoot people.

Lagging in a racer doesn't just slow you down, it makes in unplayable for me,

I remember people lagging a lot in nfs so the cars just jump all over the place,

So when i was entering a corner, a car might pop up out of no where and crash into me, it definitly would help alot in racers as well..

LOL LMFAO.... "Sony dropped some money when it was free" they couldn't even drop a 10th of what MS thrown into cloud for the past decade if they wanted to.... heck I wouldn't be surprised if Sony's servers are not running Microsoft OS....
Anything Sony is capable of in terms of server infrastructure in comparison to MS is and will be a joke.... comparing the two is like comparing a professional athlete to an amateur one.... Sony has neither the money nor the skill to invest and create an infrastructure MS is capable of.... no matter how you guys try to swing it.... this is the one thing Sony will not have the edge ever in the next decades
