Seconded. SNES Starfox best by far.
Too much planning, and you'll never get anything done.

the original was cool at the time, but hasn't aged as well as 64 in my opinion. I think star fox adventures was a step in the right direction. I've actually thought that star fox could thrive as a 3rd person adventure/shooter, but with vehicles being a key centerpiece to the gameplay/levels. Come to think of it, something similar to starhawk for playstation3 would be amazing. Note: i said similar, not the same.
Starfox SNES was a superb game, the rest (besides 64) were garbage. Hell, I'd say the original is actually a better game than SF64.
And I agree, Starfox SNES has an absolutely amazing soundtrack, which its successors failed to live up to.
I'm probably one of the very few people on the planet who actually likes Star Fox Assault. In all honesty my only big complain with the game is how short it is (only 10 missions). Haven't played that game in ages though, so I might not like the game if I play it now, I know that happened with Star Fox Adventures.
But the definitive answer is the original Star Fox.
Nintendo and PC gamer
That strategy game on DS is horrible, I loved the SNES one, used to rent it all the time when I was a kid.
RolStoppable said: I'll go with the original Star Fox over Adventures, because the latter is just a spinoff. Command is rather boring, because it only offers arena levels. I didn't even play Assault, because reviews suggested that about 60% of the game were TPS segments. The original Star Fox blows Star Fox 64 out of the water when it comes to music. I can't think of any other series that experienced such a steep drop in the quality of compositions from one game to the next. |
The Star Fox on Snes music!! It used to get me so pumped up whe I was a kid, so awesome!
Star Fox > Star Fox 64
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

This, so much this.
Starfox Adventure is and will always be my favourite in the series, followed by Starfox 64 3D.
I d agree with you on SF -> SF64, but I still liked some tracks from 64 (Starwolf). I like very little of anything Nintendo's done in the last five years except Xenoblade. Then again, everyone and their dog disagrees with me that Galaxy 2 < Galaxy soundtrack wise. |
Off topic from the original post, but I completely agree with you that Galaxy 1 had a better soundtrack than Galaxy 2. You're not alone, my friend.
