Should Nintendo promote 3rd party Wii U games in its Directs?

Yes 26 74.29%

No 9 25.71%

Total:35

One in August focussing on Splinter Cell Blacklist, Rayman Legends, and Wonderful 101, followed by another one in October focussing on Batman Arkham Origins, Watch Dogs, Sonic Lost World and Assassin's Creed 4 would be good.

Actually advertise and promote your third party content, then maybe fans will buy it, and more third party support will come to the console.

I don't know. As long as third parties don't step up to promote and advertise their own content on Nintendo platforms, there's not much that could be achieved by a Nintendo Direct.

The Wonderful 101 is a first party game.

Nintendo owns W101? Cool, didn't know that.

Third parties are failing to step up to the plate, its true, and that's why Nintendo should step in to help, not just for the sake of third party game sales, but to help their console's image by showing they're not lacking in non-Nintendo games. The Directs seem to reach a lot of Wii U owners, surely at least some would be more likely to get Batman, Rayman, or Watch Dogs if a Nintendo Direct pitched it to them. It would be like their beloved company giving these games a "seal of approval."

No, they need directs focusing on 1st party 3DS exclusives... oh wait thats 99% of directs.
But being serious its not up to Nintendo to sell 3rd party games, thats why we have 3rd party publishers.

What rol said and they should NOT advertise Rayman L after the shit they pulled.

Nintendo should send a message to all 3rd parties that say one thing and do the opposite.

But third party publishers aren't doing their job with Wii U, most gamers probably don't even know Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV, or Batman Arkham Origins are coming to Wii U, just like tons of gamers didn't even know COD was on Wii at all.

They could do it and add some Indie games aswell. Also, let developers present it a little.

What is Nintendo supposed to do, if third parties aren't really interested in producing trailers and gameplay footage that shows off Wii U exclusive features for their multiplatform games? The problem doesn't lie on Nintendo's end, because Iwata announced in the January Direct that there will be a future Direct that focuses on third party content for the Wii U. A good five months later it still hasn't happened. And if Nintendo wants to show off third party content in their Directs, they basically have to use 360/PS3 footage, because there's no Wii U footage available.

They've been willing to use PS3/360/X1 footage for third party games before, like at E3 2012 and the recent E3 Direct.

one must first have 3rd party games to promote

Splinter Cell Blacklist

Rayman Legends

Batman: Arkham Origins

Watch Dogs

Assassin's Creed IV

Sonic Lost World

All good candidates for promotion.

Yes, that's what I am saying. Nintendo is doing their part, third parties aren't doing theirs.

But nothing's stopping Nintendo from just using existing trailers or footage from other versions like at E3 2012 to promote Wii U's third party games.
