The article itself is decent. However, what I  found hilarious was the comment section in n4g. Howeverm there is a worrying amount of people that believe that both the PS4 and One will outsell the Wii U  on preorders alone (i.e sales to date). Correct me if i am wrong, but isn't this claim a bit farfetch. 

What do you guys think?

No they have no possible chance if only because of stock shortages. Wii U should also have a decent holiday like Nintendo consoles always do.
I don't think next-gen consoles will be able to outsell Wii U during their first year on the market, sometime during the second year is in my opinion a given. At least the leader of the two so probably PS4.

I think the two new consoles will find the market very competitive. I predict success for them, in particular PS4 but Nintendo will have a 6-7 million console lead that will take the others awhile to claw back.

Combined, with early start, by the end of the 2013 - maybe, but chance is less then 50%, in 2014, on the other hand, ps4 alone should surpass wii u.

The Wii U isn't doing well at all right now. That said, there is no way that the PS4 and definitely no way the Xbox One will out sell it by pre-orders alone. Their is unlikely to be enough units available to make that possible.

I'd like to see either of them, PS4 and XOne I mean, beat WiiU's 1m combined first week first. Like it or not, those really were good numbers.

this made me chuckle. That logic

Both PS4 and Xbone both have their last gen consoles to compete with which are dirt cheap now. 360 and PS3 will stifle some sales of the next gen consoles on price alone. So no, pre orders wont outsell Wii U lifetime, Wii U has a few more months sales left to increase its lead, and it actually has Nintendo first party games starting to filter through starting this month. These alone should provide a bump in Wii U sales even before the holidays.

No, they can't make enough consoles for launch to do that
