Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Mario Kart 8 Coming In April 2014?

This game will likely sell me a Wii U, but is anyone else concerned about the inclusion of Bikes?

I thought MK Wii was near perfect, but did anyone else find bikes made racing unbalanced? E.G. Karts could not compete with the speed of bikes.

I prefer the balance of MK7 in which no vehicle seems to have a disproportionate top speed advantage. I sincerely hope MKU is well balanced and hope there are lots of old-school tracks available, if only on DLC.

Too much planning, and you'll never get anything done.

"This has to be one of the most pathetic attempts at ban-dodging on this site, ever."

You know whats really pathetic is that Ive been doing this for weeks now and they haven't noticed a thing, if one gets banned I'll just swap to the other, by the time that one is banned the others back up. If both get banned I have a few more accounts.

You can actually make accounts without even verifying the email, shit you can just make up an email and get on here, it takes 2 mins to sign up.

"When was the year year Xbox didnt have Halo, Gears, Fable, Forza release? 2003"

Both Xbox and PS3 have dozens of franchises to choose from, Nintendo has a few and thats it. has there ever been a year since the NES came out where a Mario game hasn't come out?

"Ok but why are you saying it?"

Why not? Are you only allowed to say positive things on this website? Actually that may be true to be honest, you can't seem to speak ill of anything on here.

bolded: there were about 13 years since 1991 where no mario game was released

karts could do the curve dashes while bikes could not.

They could. However bikes could pull that cheap wheelie move which gave an insane speed advantage. What this resulted in was MK experts playing with manual drift Karts could be beaten by beginners on bikes using automatic. This spoiled the competion of the game, there became no point in using the Karts and online races reflected this - Bikes galore.

Again, a shame imo 'cos the games always been all about Karts for me and the powerslide mechanic seems like an integral part of the game.

So you can't just give me a straight up answer then. The fact that you keep dodging my question shows that you do know why you're bringing this completely unrelatedtothethread subject up, which is simply to instigate and get a rise out of people, or better known as trolling. I was just trying to see if I could sneakily get you to admit it, or atleast realize how silly your actions are. Oh, and the reason you shouldn't troll is because it leads to pointless unconstructive flaming, usually derails the thread, feelings could get hurt, and all that jazz. Basically it isn't good for anyone, so don't do it!

I really hope that Nintendo wont remove half of the tracks just to add the same number again.

Why not having all? Or at least offer a several retro cups with all the tracks from those cups for free within the first 3 months and let everyone else buy it for like 1 dollar per cup.

They should at least keep all the tracks from the last game in the series   So MK8 has all new tracks plus every track from MK7  (you know like Wii was able to play games from 1 generation back =GC or WiiU can play Wii games xD)

MK9 will have all MK8 tracks (new ones not Mk7 or older)

Probably because it'd take a ton of time and effort, a.k.a. they're lazy. They can't just copy paste tracks from previous games. They need to update them graphically and adjust them for whatever new mechanics have been introduced since the track's original game. I bet it takes almost as much effort revamping an old track as it does to make a completely new one. They did say MK8 would be the biggest in the series, so from that we can assume it'll have more than the typical 32 tracks. I'd love for there to be DLC also, but it seems Nintendo is in a rush to get games out there, so the team might immediately move to a new project. Perhaps that's why MK7 didn't get DLC. That game was rushed from the get go. Hope they'll prove me wrong though.
