I think it was a bad move. Hope in Nintendo is at an all-time low, and E3 was the time to assuage our fears. I'm all about Nintendo and I was extremely upset. I still am, in fact. Until some announcement blows my Nintendo love is significantly lower, and I think a lot of people feel the same way. If there's ever been a time to hold off on announcements, this wasn't it.

Why bother revealing a bunch of games they won't be getting until 2014 or even 2015 in some cases? Makes zero sense. They showed what's coming soon, as well as SB and Mario Kart which will be coming next year (and Bayonetta 2 of course....and they previously showed Yarn Yoshi which is also assumedly coming next year).

Because of the exact reason I said--faith in Nintendo is at an all-time low.  Even if a game isn't coming until 2014 or 2015, knowing about it would still give us hope and a reason to pick up the system.  Hell, Nintendo is famous for announcing games and not releasing them until 2+ years later, so why would they stop doing that now?  It makes me feel like they don't really have a lot of games lined up, to be honest.

I just realized that I really hope one of these games is Endless Ocean U

So in addition to Yarn Yoshi, Bayonetta, X, MK8 and SSBU.. I'd expect Zelda probably for a holiday release, but I really really hope for a new IP that truly shows what the game pad can do.

Also I'm calling 3 of these ones: Wii U Sports, Mario Party 10, Mario Soccer, Animal Crossing and Paper Mario.

My Nintendo love right now is pretty low. I mean, Mario 3D World looks awful. Retro's project is DK. No starfox, Metroid, f-zero. I dunno, it just feels to me like they are mailing it in. Nintendo made me buy a PS4 this fall, I will say that.

Wii U is selling very poorly at the moment, and you would rather have Nintendo redirect their resources from Donkey Kong and 3D World to a sub 2 million franchise and a 3D Mario that couldn't possibly be released within 2013? Seriously?

You are not the center of the universe and Nintendo is a profit seeking company. Also, Reggie has a PS3 and plays it regularly. I would not be surprised if he buys a PS4 this fall as well.

(Not sure why you would even include that part in your post.)

OT: No fucking shit. @Iwata

Why couldn't that 3D mario be ready? Galaxy was ready at this same time in the Wii's lifecycle.

It just seems like to me all Nintendo focuses on these days is guaranteed hits. I don't want to play another platformer. If they want to keep my money, they should diversivy at least slightly.

I think they should definitely try to make money, but I bought the Wii U on launch day, and they have just had screw up after screw up. If they want me to keep buying their systems, they are going to have to try a little harder. I mean, Nintendo fans are going to keep them afloat, why not cater to them a little bit.

I mentioned the PS4 becuase Nintendo didn't sell me on the Wii U this fall. I will have to play games elsewhere.

ehm, probably cause they had to put their focus on the 3ds last year and 11? it was clear that the slow start will have a bad impact for nintendo in general.

F-zero please and also alot of the older Nintendo franchises which have been forgotten about for years

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Aww, look at Iwata go! Stating the obvious is the first step to becoming a successful business. Go get 'em!

Animal Crossing, at some point, is a no brainer. But Paper Mario? I don't know. That was traditionally a home console franchise, that in my humble opinion they wrongly put on 3DS to begin with. Both that and Luigi's Mansion 2 should have, by all rights, been Wii U titles, not 3DS titles. Those two games alone could have helped plug up the horrid first-half-of-2013 drought, and they also both would have been better games all around on Wii U. They COULD make another Paper Mario for Wii U, I'm just saying I don't know if it'll happen. Personally, I would love to see another Super Paper Mario game, as I really loved and enjoyed playing through that one. It's actually my favorite in the series, because it combined the rpg elements and quirky humor from the rest of that series, with the classic 2D platforming of old Mario games. A very nice combination in my opinion. Would love to see a sequel on Wii U.

Of course there are more games coming. Zelda is in the works and EAD Tokyo have already confirmed they are working on another project. Also, the NintendoLand team is surely working on something, probably Wii U Sports. A Mario Universe/Zelda U/Wii Sports 3 combo for Christmas 2014 would be pretty epic.

Imo Luigi's Mansion suits the 3DS well! Anywaysthis is just my hunch, and I did say 3 of the following games.

They said a while back that they dont like revealing games too soon anymore, back when 3DS was announced in 2010 they showed off Kid Icarus and Luigis Mansion and people got pissed they werent in the launch window. So it seems like there sticking to announcing games 6-12 months before release.
