A future Rainbow Six Siege update will nerf Lion, buff LMGs
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-future-rainbow-six-siege-update-will-nerf-lion-buff-lmgs/
A new batch of nerfs and buffs announced as part of Ubisoft’s new Designer Notes series could see a significant shift in the Rainbow Six Siege meta. The most notable is a hard nerf for Lion, who has seen a near-100 percent pick rate throughout the Pro League since his release. Other important changes include a mix-up with Hibana’s kit, Vigil’s gadget, and a universal damage buff for light machine guns.

Ubisoft admits Rainbow Six Siege's fastest characters are too strong
https://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-ama-2018/
During an AMA today on the game’s subreddit with members of the balancing team, Rainbow Six Siege developers hinted at changes to the speed and armor dynamic of the game coming soon. Currently the mobility and durability of Siege's 36 operators are rated between one and three. Bulkier operators like Rook move more slowly and have larger hitboxes, but in theory make up for their slowness with greater damage resistance. However, in practice, fast-movers with smaller hitboxes tend to win gunfights if they make small, quick peeks.

Off the back of some theories about the incoming destruction of Titled Towers, more evidence has surfaced in Fortnite's latest 3.6 update. Players have noticed UFO-shaped stars (maybe just UFOs?) dotting the sky around the mysterious comet in the sky. While most wargames portray blood, death and screaming skies, 11-11: Memories Retold takes a more pensive approach to its depiction of battle. Terrible news for AMD if the following gets confirmed:

AMD’s Zen & Athlon64 CPU Architect Jim Keller Joins Intel
https://wccftech.com/former-amd-zen-athlon64-cpu-architect-jim-keller-joins-intel/
AMD’s former superstar CPU architect and current head of AI hardware at Tesla is reportedly leaving the car maker to join Intel.

Keller was the mastermind behind the most successful and competitive CPU microarchitectures in AMD’s history. He played key roles in developing the K7 and K8 CPU cores. K7 was the original Athlon, the first CPU to hit 1GHz and the first CPU to really stick in Intel’s craw.

Keller spent a multi-year stint at Apple between his contributions to the K8 design and coming back to lead the engineering efforts on AMD’s latest CPU microarchitecture, Zen in 2012. At Apple he led the design team, to much success, to build the company’s class leading mobile processors. In 2015 he left AMD to join Tesla, where he’s been leading the company’s AI chip design teams to date.

If he managed to make Zen with AMD's budget, what can he accomplish with Intel's humongous resources? Oh, well, at least there are some good news for AMD: they made money!

AMD Reports First Quarter 2018 Financial Results, Revenue up 40%
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-reports-first-quarter-2018-financial-resultsrevenue-up-40.html
It's been a long time coming, but Ryzen and Epyc finally turnaround losses into profits, revenue has risen by 40% in turnover compared to 2017, and 23 percent up from Q4 2017. AMD has published its figures for the first quarter of 2018.

AMD was able to gain 1.65 billion dollars in revenue that leads towards $81 million profit, which is a very nice improvement compared to the $33 million loss the company had a year before. The biggest chunk of revenue was found at the Computing and Graphics segment. Turnover increased by 95 percent compared to the previous year to 1.12 billion dollars. The turnover of the Enterprise, Embedded and Semi-Custom segment fell by 12 percent to 532 million.

AMD indicates that the good figures are related to the good sales of the Ryzen, Radeon and Epyc products. The company expects to generate a turnover of $ 1.725 billion in the next quarter.

Oh! And apparently, they already have 7nm GPUs in their labs...

Epic seeks default judgment in lawsuit against 14-year-old Fortnite cheater and his mom
https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-seeks-default-judgment-in-lawsuit-against-14-year-old-fortnite-cheater-and-his-mom/
Epic Games filed a lawsuit against a couple of particularly determined Fortnite cheaters late last year, one of whom turned out to be a 14-year-old boy. That led to a scathing letter from the lad's mom, who said the studio "has no capability of proving" its claim, and even if it did, she hadn't given the boy consent to play the game, as required by Fortnite's terms and conditions. It was an epic response, you might say, which led to more legalistic maneuvering but no further response from the defendant or his mother.
As a result of that silence, Epic moved for a default judgment on February 13. But the court ruled that the letter sent by the mother in November should be construed as a motion to dismiss the case, which forced Epic to issue a response. It did so earlier this week, saying that "because Defendant has not carried his burden of proving Epic's Complaint fails to allege sufficient facts to state a claim for relief that is plausible on its face, his 'motion to dismiss' must be denied."

>>I wonder if they'll do the same with the possible Chinese cheaters...

Bad news: It’s exclusively for the HTC Vive.

They’re so lost, in fact, that they’ve managed to drive right out of Eos and enter the considerably more blocky world of Minecraft. They’ve dragged some pals along, too, including those of the more monstrous persuasion.

Nvidia’s latest GPU driver is causing installation headaches for some GTX 1060 owners
https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidias-latest-gpu-driver-is-causing-installation-headaches-for-some-gtx-1060-owners/
Nvidia released its 397.31 'Game Ready' driver package yesterday with optimizations for BattleTech and Frostpunk, but unfortunately it's not installing correctly for some users. Even worse, those affected by what appears to be a buggy driver release say they're getting caught in an installation loop whereby after restarting their PC, they're prompted to reinstall the driver, only to have it fail again.
Almost all of the complaints on Nvidia's community forum have come from GeForce GTX 1060 owners, though one of the users says he's running into an installation issue with this EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW graphics cards. It's not clear if his issue is the same or an unrelated one.

>>If you haven't installed them yet, it would be better wait for the hotfix.
