That was pretty much my sentiment. Haha
Ubi certainly has a formula which is predictable with it's games these days.

Don't even waste your time.

I wondered if that was you in the thread =P.

I blocked and reported her for multiple acts of harassment.

Certainly is. :)

So your advice is to play neither of them... well, thanks for responding but I'll have to obviate your opinions. After all, I already have the games and sooner or later I'll have to play them. Besides, I don't ask much to a game so, as far as it entertains me, it will be fine.

I only hope neither of them are as bad as AC3 but, since I managed to finish that crap, I'll also be able to do it with those two.

@Chazore: Wow, what the f was that? He/she was a jerk.

Please excuse my bad English.

AC is still awesome if you ignore the dreadful AC3. I haven't played Victory or Syndicate but they're probably quite meh and unnecessary. ACO is definitely good again.

All I know is that person is completely warped big time. She ended up going against not only me, but the OP of the thread and Pem as well.

Well I regret reading that, it makes the 60p bottle of bleach on amazon very appealing.

The problem with AC is/was that Ubi got greedy with the annual releases, and that had its consequences.

Btw, is there something true with that rumor that Origin had something to do with bringing Desmond back?

It was uncalled and totally out of place. I hope you get to know if it was really one of the devs.

And all it took was for me to call them "uppity" (Self-important/arrogant)

They were throwing shade before that though, and even after I used uppity, they decided to go further on and even going so far as to assume anyone that talks to them is from the UK.

Not all of the Steam forums are like that, but you can get some crazy people showing up here and there. Some snarky folk and fanboys can rear their heads as well.

What I find most annoying, are those threads where someone is voicing an issue with the game/game performance, only to be met by a swath of "you suck at the same" and "game works fine for me" type responses. None of which do or solve anything.

The thing that sorta tipped me off, was how these devs were once a part of CDPR, and how they had "differences" with the company, so it wouldn't surprise me if one of the devs was salty at constant criticism of their game. It doesn't make much sense to create a private account, with zero name change in their history and no profile picture. The vast majority of Steam users have at least one name change in their history, as well as a profile picture (unless you're a PuB cheater from China, they create new accounts all the time).

Also that user created a thread that gave nothing but overwhelming praise, despite the game flying over the majority of reviewers radars (it didn't really turn any heads tbf) and it's glaring performance issues.

I like the game, I just have major issues with the devs not getting on top of the game's optimisation. They've been putting out patches for a few months that basically work on gameplay and some bug fixes, but someone like me with a 1080ti and an i7-6700k cannot seem to run it even decently at 1440p.

I just ran Spellforce III at near ultra settings, and I can definitely manage above 60fps and the worst dips I've had on that game so far are 50-55, but then it scales back up to 70-100 frames in no time. With Seven, I'll be lucky if I can maintain 60, as it mostly goes down from 60 to sub 30fps nearly all the time, except for areas with no objects or NPC's. Game is in dire need of performance optimisation (maybe that's why they left CDPR, because they couldn't cut it with their poor quality craftsmanship).

Btw, I'd highly suggest giving Spellforce III a go. It's a nice blend of RTS meets RPG, as well as having Geralt's voice actor as the second protagonist, which gives the game a nice touch of familiarity. Graphics and visuals in that game are gorgeous and while I am waiting for further performance patches, it still runs better than Seven does.

So far I haven't seen any indication of it whatsoever. Hell, I've played the game for like 50h and I've seen maybe 2 sequences outside of the animus totaling 5 min. No idea how it fits in with Desmond. And even if it somehow does, there's no point if they don't drastically expand the current time gameplay again.

Though I've never really gotten so far into a game of TaB to build a Thanatos unit, I can say they definitely look op from the looks of the video:

I've also discovered from his videos, that the Lucifer unit is basically useless, as they can get swarmed easily and their flame throwers also damage friendly units. Thanatos seems like the superior choice, especially considering that their splash damage does next to no damage to anyone but the zombies.
