Also on your Faster than XB1/PS4 sections am I reading it correctly that of cards better than X1/PS4 74% of owners have a gpu stronger than PS4 and 36% faster than X1 but below PS4? Or is that inn units?

No, that's no percentage, it is million units

The PS4 hardware base should be around 74 - 75 million units by now, the Xbox One hardware base around 35 - 36 million, both together around 110 million units.

Gaming PCs on Steam that can keep up with these consoles (based on their GPU and the SteamSpy estimate) should have a hardware base around 150 - 160 million units.

I think a lot of needless animosity between PC and console is being bred, both in this thread and other places on the forum (and this goes both ways). Most people might primarily consider me a console gamer, but I have over a hundred games on Steam and if I had to guess, I'd say I spend more time gaming on PC than on console.

Despite that, I don't feel very welcome here when I enter here, start reading and it's filled with "PC vs console"-talk, and about how the mentality of console gamers is hypocritical and whatnot. Not a good way to foster a healthy discussion in my opinion.

I understand what you mean. I'm kind of a "live and let live" guy, so I'm not comfortable with these useless confrontations. That's not to say that I like how things are and how part of the gaming industry, because this goes beyond forums, treats certain platforms or users better than others. It's like a slow poison that slowly kiils the good will of our entertainment.

Quite honestly, and moving to this particular case we're having now, instead of going to a thread you know you're "safe" and talk sh*t about it, what should have been done is make a new thread demanding to know how the writer team choose the games featured on those articles and why other titles, were left out. Because it could simply be a case of using a badly choosen title, and instead of "Best XXX game(s) of 2017", it should be "Best XXX game(s) of 2017 that we've played".

If you're all so pissed off by how things are, stop complaining and do something about it!

There was no reason for me making new thread - I commented the issue first in the very article in question, with no response from author.

When someone makes an article about Best RPG of 2017 (though that in itself is hilarious, given that this site is barely reviewing anything, let alone being specialized in reviewing RPGs) I fully expect to see games from all platforms included - especially when one of those games is 5th best ranked game this year on Meta - if they don't play all notable games in certain genre they should really stay away from making any "Best of" lists in the first place.

I've also made threads myself, which talk about PC games in one way or another. The vast majority of them were either ignored or died within hours of being posted.

It's hard to feel welcome or showing interest in something on this site, if no one else is going to bother doing the same in return. That's why I've slimmed down my threads, and now I hardly bother putting much into them, mainly because I know hardly anyone will read them and that they'll die within 2-6 hours of being posted.

We've been told time and time again to "make a difference", but none of those attempts really do anything at all on this site. Hardly anyone cares about a PC game on here, let alone news about it (unless it's negative news).

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

Well, PC is not very well considered in this forum and this thread is therefore only frequented by PC players. We use this chance to vent here against all that shit the well known console fanboys are spewing in the rest of the forum.

I don't think anyone in here actually harbors any hate against consoles or people that play them. Most of the people in this thread actually own one or more of them. It just stops being funny when people tell untruths, changing goalposts or citing arbitrary advantages which apparently make consoles somehow superior. But the superiority only applies to certain people, the advantages and disadvantages between consoles and PC are completely subjective to the person. And while I'm very vocal about my dislike of consoles, or at least how they're handled by the platform owners, I would never claim that PC is inherently superior. It's just massively superior for my priorities in gaming. There are very good reasons why people buy consoles and why that's the right platform for them.

There aren't really any PC fanboys in this thread, or at least I haven't encountered them, but there are plenty of console fanboys around and that's aggravating. Believe me, if there ever was someone in here making a post about how PC is inherently superior and all consoles are trash and people who play them are trash, which is how a PC fanboy would sound, I'd be the first to challenge them. And you can believe me that people would be able to say that in here because no one else, let alone mods, visit this thread often enough to notice it.

Consoles in this thread only come up when certain morons trying to start a war in another part of the forum. Nobody in here actually cares about consoles enough to make it a proactive topic^^

Article authors rarely response the comments, so what happened to you is not strange. Still, if you really want answers as to why the games featured in the article were choosen over others, it's better to either send a message to the author, write on his wall or, better yet, make a thread about it.

As for those "Best XXX game of the year" articles, I agree that they are pointless because they don't review enough games for that. They should go back and made them as in the old days, with threads asking for our picks and then making an article about what the community as a whole choosed.

The 2017 Steam Awards winners are revealed
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-2017-steam-awards-winners-are-revealed/
The Steam Awards are basically the videogame accolades equivalent of Whose Line Is It Anyway: Everything is made up, and the points don't matter. Nonetheless, games are put into categories and we dutifully vote for them, and when all is said and done, the winners are announced.

>>I think three of the games I voted ended up winning.

The Witcher 3 HD Rework is a must-have mod, new screenshots showcase improved vegetation textures
http://www.dsogaming.com/screenshot-news/the-witcher-3-hd-rework-is-a-must-have-mod-new-screenshots-showcase-improved-vegetation-textures/
As we’ve already stated, The Witcher 3 HD Rework is a must-have mod for CD Projekt RED’s RPG. This mod significantly improves textures and contrary to other attempts, modder ‘HalkHoganPL’ has managed to stay as close to the original/vanilla textures as possible.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 gets a pink Darth Vader mod
http://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-battlefront-2-gets-a-pink-darth-vader-mod/
Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen said in November that it was a commitment to "realism" that led it to fill the infamous Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot boxes with usable items rather than cosmetics. "If you did a bunch of cosmetic things, you might start to violate the canon, right? Darth Vader in white probably doesn't make sense, versus in black. Not to mention you probably don't want Darth Vader in pink. No offense to pink, but I don't think that's right in the canon."
It appears, however, that he underestimated both the interests and the will of gamers, as a modder by the name of Destauch has shared a "Darth Vader in Pink" mod over on Nexus Mods. There's nothing more or less to it than what's advertised: Darth Vader, but pink. And looking sharp in it, too.

Kylo Ren returns as Matt the radar tech in this spoof Star Wars Battlefront 2 mod
http://www.pcgamer.com/kylo-ren-returns-as-matt-the-radar-tech-in-this-spoof-star-wars-battlefront-2-mod/
If "Darth Vader in Pink" isn't your thing, then allow me to direct your attention to another amusing mod. Kylo Ren, commander of Starkiller Base, Vader-esque bad guy of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 hero character, takes on an entirely different (but no less malevolent) persona in this mod called Matt: The Radar Technician.

>>It's also available at Nexus Mods.
