I think a lot of needless animosity between PC and console is being bred, both in this thread and other places on the forum (and this goes both ways). Most people might primarily consider me a console gamer, but I have over a hundred games on Steam and if I had to guess, I'd say I spend more time gaming on PC than on console.

Despite that, I don't feel very welcome here when I enter here, start reading and it's filled with "PC vs console"-talk, and about how the mentality of console gamers is hypocritical and whatnot. Not a good way to foster a healthy discussion in my opinion.

I saw it a couple weeks ago, as it was featured on my explore list of games, and I could only think "WTF is this?". It's very bizarre.

Well, my physical PC collection just got much bigger! I found these games for 50 cents each:

Of those I have/had three: Tomb Raider Legend, Crysis and Quake. For 50cents each I would have also bought most of them.

I understand what you mean. I'm kind of a "live and let live" guy, so I'm not comfortable with these useless confrontations. That's not to say that I like how things are and how part of the gaming industry, because this goes beyond forums, treats certain platforms or users better than others. It's like a slow poison that slowly kiils the good will of our entertainment.

Quite honestly, and moving to this particular case we're having now, instead of going to a thread you know you're "safe" and talk sh*t about it, what should have been done is make a new thread demanding to know how the writer team choose the games featured on those articles and why other titles, were left out. Because it could simply be a case of using a badly choosen title, and instead of "Best XXX game(s) of 2017", it should be "Best XXX game(s) of 2017 that we've played".

If you're all so pissed off by how things are, stop complaining and do something about it!

Oh it's absolutely bizarre, it's not exactly something you play for fun, more like something you play to prove to yourself or others that you can do it. It's an interesting game though.

AMD will fix, after all, the DX9 crashing issues in an upcoming hotfix
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/amd-will-fix-after-all-the-dx9-crashing-issues-in-an-upcoming-hotfix/
Yesterday, we informed you about a ridiculous statement from one of AMD’s technical support engineers who claimed that the newly introduced crashing issues on some DX9 wouldn’t be addressed via a future update. Naturally, this prompted a lot of AMD users to contact the red team and express their dissatisfaction and as a result of that backlash, the team announced that an upcoming hotfix will resolve these crashing issues.

>>Good, AMD, good. This is the way to go.

This Sonic cycle mod for Breath of the Wild proves Link, too, has gotta go fast
http://www.pcgamer.com/this-sonic-cycle-mod-for-breath-of-the-wild-proves-link-too-has-gotta-go-fast/
Back in December, Nintendo put out the last bit of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Wii U and Switch: a motorcycle that Link can ride around Hyrule, presumably while making vroom vroom noises under his breath. On PC, modders immediately set about turning that bike into other things that go fast, like the Road Runner and Sonic the Hedgehog. And yes, it's just as good as it sounds.

The people behind TimeSplitters Rewind put out a teaser in early 2017—albeit a very thin teaser—to remind and reassure us all that the project, a remake of Free Radical's early-2000s TimeSplitters FPS series, was still in the works. Now it's 2018, and that means it's time to do it all again.

Fallout 4 mod lets you assign NPCs to plan and manage your settlements
http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4-mod-lets-you-assign-npcs-to-plan-and-manage-your-settlements/
The draw of Sim Settlements, the Fallout 4 mod we awarded Best Mod of 2017, was that it gave NPCs some agency in creating their own homes and shops on your settlements.
Rise of the Commonwealth, the expansion to Sim Settlements, takes the idea a step further by letting NPCs not just build their own stuff but actually plan the settlement completely without your input. You can assign a city leader for each settlement, choosing from Fallout 4's NPCs companions, and put them in charge, as if making them mayor. They'll begin by scrapping the settlement, decide for themselves where zoned plots should be placed, and then set about building along with the other NPC settlers you've recruited. As the settlement grows, your mayor will even take into account the current shortcomings of the settlement, focusing on more farms or homes or shops depending on what's needed most. Rise of the Commonwealth is another way to have unique, constantly growing settlements without you having to spend time micromanaging everything.

Skyblivion from Skyblivion Team also won Best Upcoming Mod—beating both Tiberian Sun Rising and Fallout 4: New Vegas in the process—while ModDB's sister site, IndieDB, named military MMORPG Foxhole as its Indie of the Year.

One year (minus two days) ago, we had a look at a teaser for Blade Runner 9732, a "virtual tour" of Rick Deckard's famously dim near-future Los Angeles apartment. It's set to go live on Steam on January 7, but if you'd like to zoom and enhance on it right now (and also get your hands on a version that'll be immune to potentially forthcoming legal smackdowns), a non-Steam "beta release" is now downloadable from Google Drive.

ESA encourages World Health Organization to reconsider 'Gaming Disorder' classification
http://www.pcgamer.com/esa-encourages-world-health-organization-to-reconsider-gaming-disorder-classification/
As Andy reported last week, the World Health Organization recently listed "Gaming Disorder" as an addictive behaviour in a beta draft of its International Classification of Diseases for 2018. Alongside the likes of gambling disorder, the proposal lists gaming disorder under "disorders due to substance use or addictive behaviours" with negative "mental and behavioural" effects, similar to those consistent with alcohol and drug addiction.
Now, the Entertainment Software Association has issued a statement that suggests the proposed move lacks common sense and "trivializes real mental health issues".
