Vampyr, Dontnod's turn-of-the-20th-century game about life, death, morality, and bloodsucking, sounds like it could actually be a really good game. Alas, we're going to have to wait longer than expected to find out: It was originally slated for release in November of this year, but today the studio announced that it's been pushed back to the spring of 2018.

>>If this means we'll get a better game, then so be it.

I think I'll pass on Outlast. Horror games, like movies, are not my thing. But thanks for sharing!

Anyway, let's go with a round of news and rumors: a confirmation of a rumor, AMD using common sense and, if true, Intel not making any sense at all:

GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Specs and Details - Based on GP104-300
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/geforce-gtx-1070-ti-specs-and-details-based-on-gp104-300.html
First off I have confirmed this product with some of my industry sources, they will not say the final name just yet but I have learned that the GPU used is the ,GP104-300. This is now a confirmed fact. The product also is referred to as "Ti" within the companies I spoke to. Next to my sources also confirm a release end of October.

That is all the info I was able to pry loose, however MyDrivers posted information of specifications that might be spot on. The GPU has 20 Shader clusters, just one would be disabled totalling towards 2432, which is just 128 shader procs lower than that of the GTX 1080.

The clock speeds of the GTX 1070 Ti would be higher than the GTX 1070 as well at 1607 MHz and a 1683 MHz GPU Boost woth 8.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory clock. The TDP would be 180W, similar to the GTX 1080. If I perform some reverse math on tyhis, the product would offer just over 8 TFLOPS in perf.

>>Personally, I think it's a silly move from Nvidia to counter AMD's Vega 56 win over their 1070, only to be able to brag that AMD doesn't perform better than them at any price point.

AMD Transitioning To 12nm LP Process For Vega, Ryzen In 2018
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-vega-12nm-lp-2018,35502.html
At the Global Foundries Technology Conference, AMD’s CTO Mark Papermaster announced that the company will be transitioning “graphics and client products” from the Global Foundries 14nm LPP FinFET process it uses today to the new 12nm LP process in 2018. Global Foundries also announced that 12LP will begin production in 1Q18.

>>As I said, it makes perfect sense. Their graphic cards are very power hungry, so they would benefit from a better node, and this could also help improve their CPUs performance when overclocked.

Intel preps dual-core i3-7360X for X299, but why?
https://videocardz.com/72775/intel-preps-dual-core-i3-7360x-for-x299-but-why
Intel is not done with Kabylake-X yet. A prototype of i3 dual-core processor has been spotted in China.

This is a really bizarre processor. A platform that is designed for high-performance computing might soon get a new CPU… with two cores.

The i3-7360X is a HEDT alternative to i3-7350K, which, by the way, will soon be succeeded by 8350K.

The specs of this new processor are not overwhelming. It’s only 100 MHz faster than 7350K. The turbo clock is 4.3 GHz. The TDP though, skyrockets to 112W.

According to the leaker, the i3-7360X is 1.25% faster than 7350K. The price of 7360X is expected around 1699 Yuans (220 USD), so it’s not cheap.

>>I really hope this is a misunderstanding, because the 4 cores chips were already an odd move, and this would be like a bad joke.

Rainbow Six Siege is switching to CS:GO-style recoil patterns
http://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-is-switching-to-csgo-style-recoil-patterns/
Something odd about the L85A2 assault rifle came to light during the recently-concluded Operation Health interval for Rainbow Six Siege—which led to something odd being discovered about all of the weapons in the game. As Ubisoft explained in the latest Rainbow Six Siege dev blog, the displacement of a weapon's sights during firing, meant to simulate the effects of recoil, "created a parallax issue between the gun and the world." And that, apparently, is bad.

Infinite damage combo discovered in Divinity: Original Sin 2
http://www.pcgamer.com/an-infinite-damage-combo-has-been-discovered-in-divinity-original-sin-2/
One of the magical things about Divinity: Original Sin and now its sequel, Original Sin 2, is how complex and liberal their combat systems are. Whether by design or by accident, the glut of spell and physics interactions sometimes lets you get away with ridiculously OP moves. In the first game, for instance, players leveled up telekinesis, made absurdly heavy objects by stacking containers, and then dropped them on enemies for unreasonable amounts of damage. Original Sin 2 now has its own trick, courtesy of Ashandis on Reddit (and others), except this one appears to deal unlimited damage to a single enemy.
Update: Divinity: Original Sin 2 producer David Walgrave tells me that Larian doesn't plan to patch out this technique because it's "part of the system."

The recent Call of Duty: WWII story trailer, and the four squad trailers that followed, focused exclusively on the American soldiers of the US First Infantry Division, who experience the war from the beaches of Normandy to other "iconic" battlefields across Europe. But Sledgehammer Games co-founder Glen Schofield told GQ that while Private Ronald "Red" Daniels of the Big Red One is the game's central character, he's not the only one whose story will be told.

Road Redemption escapes Early Access next month, is now a 'rogue-lite'
http://www.pcgamer.com/road-redemption-escapes-early-access-next-month-is-now-a-rogue-lite/
Road Redemption, a Kickstarter-funded motorcycle racer inspired by Road Rash, was meant to launch back in 2014. That didn't happen, though it's been in Early Access for a good while and seems to be keeping its fanbase happy, judging by the Steam rating. Oh, and it's a rogue-lite now too, according to a new press release, though it doesn't seem like an especially punishing one. You get one life, but you get to keep your XP when you die.

One of PUBG's forthcoming new vehicles looks like an old Volkswagen bus

When Brendan Greene did a PUBG AMA earlier this week, he said the forthcoming new map will also feature three new vehicles. At the time, he teased that we'd have to "wait and see" what they are, but now we know what at least one of them will be. It will be a van heavily reminiscent of the ye olde Volkswagen Kombi vans.

The First Tree is a heartbreaking adventure told through the eyes of a fox

Last night, I happened upon The Lost Tree—a beautiful walking simulator that explores themes of love, loss and friendship through the eyes of a fox.
Which I guess might instead make a bounding simulator? I'm not sure, but what I am certain of is The Lost Tree's scope for emotional storytelling. Throughout its modest two hour or so runtime, I thoroughly enjoyed galloping around its gorgeous pastoral landscapes and moonlit moors, uncovering snippets of narrative all the while battling the ever-growing lump in my throat.

PUBG exec contemplating 'further action' over Fortnite Battle Royale similarities
http://www.pcgamer.com/pubg-exec-contemplating-further-action-over-fortnite-battle-royale-similarities/
After describing themselves as "huge fans of the Battle Royale genre", Epic Games unveiled Fortnite Battle Royale last week—a new free-of-charge mode that'll drop 100 players into "one giant map" in a bid to become the last person standing. It's due to launch this coming Tuesday, September 26.
Now, it appears Bluehole has taken issue with perceived similarities between Epic's incoming mode, and its own similarly structured megahit PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

Play Gang Beasts for free this weekend
http://www.pcgamer.com/play-gang-beasts-for-free-this-weekend/
In the crowded field of local multiplayer games where up to four players can compete to pummel the guts out of each other through their faces, Gang Beasts stands out. Its clumsy balloon-limbed characters wear animal costumes, its levels include a ferris wheel and the tops of several moving trucks, and its physics turn everything into a stumbling shambles. Gang Beasts is still in early access but it's already hilarious.
On Steam Gang Beasts is free to try for the weekend as a way of stress-testing its new server architecture, networking, and so on.

Intel Z370 Chipset Could Support Kaby Lake - But Intel Will Not Allow It
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/intel-z370-chipset-could-support-kaby-lake-but-intel-will-not-allow-it.html
Much has been said and spoken about Intel upcoming 6-core Coffee Lake processors. It will launch based on a LGA 1151 Socket. We’ve been able to confirm that Z370 will only support Coffee Lake processors. Here’s the shocker, they could support Kaby Lake, yet Intel doesn’t allow it.

Over the past few weeks I have been talking to many motherboard manufacturers, and the story is the same. There is no reason for the Z370 chipset to not be able to support last-gen Kaby Lake, it is merely firmware restriction. Intel is enforcing the motherboard manufacturers to only support Intel 8th gen processors, thus Coffee Lake on Z370.

We’ve seen it in the past though, a BIOS update all of the sudden might enable other processors. The board-partners are very tight-lipped about this, understandably. Earlier this week you have already seen our Dutch colleagues from HWI try out a 7th gen Celeron G3930 Kaby Lake based processor on Z370. That processor got in the BIOS post code up-to code 26 when it halted. Post code 26 is the graphics pass, all passes before that would have been valid including memory and CPU.

I have no idea why Intel places such limits on it's chipsets. It limits people with older systems from buying a brand spanking new CPU, which equates to monies.
They can't maintain these shenanigans when AMD is finally a viable alternative now.

So I took the plunge and bought myself Divinity Original Sin 2. It's certainly a good base of a game but I'm not really satisfied with the content. Not necessarily the quantity but the variance. I have a lot of little gripes with it that I cannot recall having with Dragon Age. The characters absolutely don't appeal to me and neither are the preset abilities. What makes it worse is that they actively try to discourage you from picking a custom character instead try to make you choose between their story characters. Of course I chose a story character in fear I would be missing out. Yet so far not only are the characters and their back stories boring (or boringly presented) but it also hasn't had any impact whatsoever.

I think I might start over with a custom character and do some things a little bit differently. The standard difficulty is ok but challenging. From what I've seen so far it doesn't look like the game will let me to grind my level to become too powerful, which is a bummer for me. If I ever find out that they scale the enemy level to mine it's going straight into the trash.
