A run down on Vega.

Just like I assumed... FP16 operations got a bigger focus with Vega.
It will be able to combine two FP16 operations and run them through the FP32 units, just like nVidia does now.
So FP16 is double rate on Vega and newer GPU's... Older GPU's FP16 operations ran at the same rate as FP32.

8-bit integers is still unknown.

Vega is clock-rate optimized, so hopefully she scales in clock-rate to a similar extent as Pascal.

Geometry performance is doubled in best-case scenario's. Yippy.

HBM2 is in. Twice the bandwidth potential of HBM 1 and with up-to 8x more total memory per stack. (Likely to get 8Gb though, larger 16/32Gb cards would be for professional markets.)

Plus Virtualization of memory. I.E. HBM+System Memory, allowing the GPU to address 512 Terabytes of memory.

AMD will be adopting a tiled-based rasterization approach that gave nVidia such an efficiency lead with Maxwell (I was NOT expecting this untill maybe Navi.)

And so much more that I won't bore everyone with, basically AMD has caught up with nVidia in all major areas.

The downside is that it's still months away from release, not sure if I wish to wait and miss out on Mass Effect 4 though. Might just get a couple of Radeon 480's to tide me over. Sick of the Xbox One.

The complications of this could be catastrophic for Scorpio as well, if Microsoft chooses this new Architecture, they will be able to leverage the massive efficiency gains AMD has done in every area.

I haven't been this excited about an AMD GPU since Southern Islands dropped half a decade ago. And that is saying something.

I'm curious about that because of the massive difference in bandwidth both kind of memories have.

There's nothing more to say, because that says it all.

G-Sync or not, there's no way a laptop can run 3x 4K screens.

Thankfully it's only a prototype, because it would be expensive as f*ck.

Let's go with the final news of the week. Yes, final, because tomorrow is the "Three Wise Men" festivity, which is important here in Spain (traditionally, that's when kids recieved their Christmas gifts, before Hollywood came with their Santa Claus movies), so I won't make them.

If someone wants, he/she can take this as an oportunity to make the news. Yeah, sure...

HOMEWORLD: DESERTS OF KHARAK DEV TEASES NEXT PROJECT
http://www.pcgamer.com/homeworld-deserts-of-kharak-dev-teases-next-project/
New Year is apparently the time for teasing your fans with images possibly related to your next game, and Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak developer Blackbird Interactive got in on the fun with a few pictures posted to its Facebook page. Contrary to the outer space-set original Homeworld games, and their planetbound prequel Deserts of Kharak, the three images show some sleek futuristic planes doing their thing in...the sky. Homeworld: Skies of Kharak confirmed? Maybe! Or perhaps it's something totally different (although the planes wouldn't look out of place in the Homeworld universe).

If you're like me and you desperately miss that bygone era of killing a relentless horde of halberd-wielding cows, you might find a little solace in World of Warcraft.

Not even a Titan XP could come close to run three 4K displays.

If they make it with 3x 1080p or maybe 1440p, then there sould be a market in the workstation or similar enterprises, but that's it.

Hi-Rez have announced the next wave of major changes to Smite at Hi-Rez Expo in Atlanta. Leading the charge is a new pantheon of gods, the Celts, and their first champion—The Morrigan. She's a mobile mage with the ability to create a decoy of herself and a crazy ultimate ability. When activated, she can pick any god currently in pay and transform into them for a short duration of time, gaining access to all of their abilities—including their ultimate. Whether that means creating a copy of your team's loaded-up hunter to boost your damage at a crucial moment or borrowing the enemy's best teamfight ultimate, she should make a big impact.
