So it's possible after all. Now the same in UWQHD please and I'll buy.

That's one hell of a monitor.

I don't know how it's possible, DisplayPort 1.4 only goes up to 4K@120Hz with a 10bit panel and HDR10, so either ASUS is going with an 8-bit+FRC panel (unlikely as they claim higher than sRGB colour range) or it will need to use both DP ports at the same time.

In any case, it's one hell of a monitor that will have a matching price.

Please excuse my bad English.

They said they will do it with just one port with secret sauce compression.

Price should be $1500 minimum.

I'll believe it when I see it.

And yes, that's the min I can think of. If they sold the original Swift for $700 (if not more), and that was a 1440p monitor with a TN panel, this one will cost a lot more.

Ok, after reading a bit more about that monitor I've found some more details. The first ones are from Nvidia's own GeForce site:

http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-g-sync-hdr-announced-at-ces-2017?ClickID=azkvylrryr9n0zz0zrk5pyolayvk5prlnsks

The new G-Sync HDR monitors will be using AU Optronics panels, they'll be HDR10 (the standard, not some variaton) and have "384-zone backlights, and cutting-edge Quantum Dot technology". The 384-zone backlight will help inmensly to achieve the high luminance but also great contrast, and Quantum Dot tech will take care of the higher range of colours.

And they say monitors, in plural, because Acer will also have a similar monitor:

About the ASUS monitor, from this article (http://edgeup.asus.com/2017/01/04/rog-pg27uq-intro/) we get that ASUS plans to launch it in NA in Q3 (tho given past experiences it could get delayed to Q4), and that the estimated launch price is a surprising $1199, much lower than I thought.

They should make a bundle with those things and the next Volta flagship. It all sounds very exciting.

Videocardz has had access to AMD's VEGA Presentation slides

http://videocardz.com/65406/exclusive-amd-vega-presentation

They also claim that VEGA has 2 HBM2.0 stacks for 16GB or VRAM and that the die size is similar to Hawaii.

I like the last slide the most.

I think that's quite common for tech previews. Even more with one like this, that's not even a detailed or low level one.

n any case, the NDA for that preview analysis has expired and most sites (Anandtech, Guru3D, PcPer, TechPowerUp, etc.) have posted their Vega Architecture previews.

One last thing, a Vega chip:
