No, the question was "1440p@60fps for a few years", so I showed the 1440p benchmarks.

In 1080p the GTX 1070 and the GTX 980 Ti also can deliver and average of more than 60 fps with a few dips in the 50s. And with the first performance patch, probably even these dips will be gone:

I'd expect them to for most games, but when it comes to Ubisoft proted games, not so much. The dips might be gone after a while but a 1080 for 1440p?, £700 for a half res bump?.

I think I'll personally go for a 1440p IPS screen.

The vast majority of games I'll play will run excellent on it, even at max settings, and for those that don't, I'll just tune it down a bit.

Good for you.

Now you have to decide the size (there are 1440p monitors from 24" to 32") and the brand.

There are new rumors/leaks regarding Intel's new Kaby Lake CPUs, courtesy of a chinese forum and through WCCFTech

http://wccftech.com/intel-core-i7-7700k-kaby-lake-benchmarks-leak/

The CPU was tested using Cinebench, Fritz Chess and 3DMark 11 Extreme (physics) at both stock speed but also overclocked to 5.0GHz, and then compared to a stock i7-6700K:

Benchmark Tests Intel Core i7-6700K (Stock) Intel Core i7-7700K (Stock) Intel Core i7-7700K (5.0 GHz)
Cinebench R15 886 Points 913 Points 1089 Points
Fritz Chess 16050 Points 17049 Points 19891 Points
3DMark 11 Extreme (Physics Score) 10124 Points 10838 Points 13542 Points

What's interesting here is that the 7700K, that's clocked around 5% faster than the 6700K, is about 5% faster in those benchmarks than the current model, so all the gains come from the higher frequency and not from IPC gains.

Remember that's still an unconfirmed leak/rumor, but if true, there's little reason for users of 6700K and the rest of Skylake processors to get the new chips.

I have to say I really like my NZXT Phantom 820. After I did some work on it I have to say it's pretty neat and robust and big. It might actually be the first case that will survive my next PC upgrade.

It's a good case, that's for sure.

I've ordered a Fractal R5, because I prefer quiet cases. I hope I like it as much as you like yours.

Probably not because it's black.

And how do you know it's not the Titanium one?

Ok, yes, it's black like me current case. I prefer them to not draw attention like a shiny white case would.

Alright, I am gonna say it

Even after all these years, Windows Vista is still the prettiest Windows OS. Ran like arse for sure but the looks of it is still better than 7, 8 and 10 imo

Yeah, a total eyecatcher on that white desk in front of that white wall.
