Why would they have offered me a 1080? I would have had to buy it myself.

I was talking hypothetically. The 980Ti was sold at roughly the same price as the 1080, and with the 9 series being phased out, it could be that Inno3D didn't had a 980Ti to trade for your damaged product. In that case, a 1080 could have been the replacement... although they could have gone with a 1070 that offers more or less the same performance.

Of course it would've been the 1070 which would've ben horrible.

Tomorrow I'll find out if the PSU really only damaged the GPU or if there's something else wrong. I had like 2 weeks Rocket League abstinence now. The longest I have gone without RL since its release.

I'm pretty much like that, yeah.

Then I need to wait for my favorite partner to fix his damn internet so we can fuck up the ladder.

Let's go with the news:

FOR HONOR – CLOSED ALPHA DETAILS UNVEILED, FOUR NEW TRAILERS RELEASED
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/for-honor-closed-alpha-details-unveiled-four-new-trailers-released/
Ubisoft has revealed its Closed Alpha plans for For Honor. According to the company, this closed beta phase will begin on September 15th and will last until September 18th.

IT'S TIME TO DIVE INTO THE BIOSHOCK: THE COLLECTION LAUNCH TRAILER
http://www.pcgamer.com/its-time-to-dive-into-the-bioshock-the-collection-launch-trailer/
There was a recent spot of confusion about when exactly BioShock: The Collection would arrive on the PC. A September 13 launch date had been announced, but it turns out that's only for consoles, and only in some regions of the world: Those of us on the PC actually have to wait until September 15 to get it. But the launch trailer, you can have right now.

INFINITY: BATTLESCAPE LOOKS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE IN THESE SCREENSHOTS
http://www.dsogaming.com/screenshot-news/infinity-battlescape-looks-absolutely-incredible-in-these-screenshots/
I-Novae Studios has released some incredible screenshots from Infinity: Battlescape. The first seven screenshots were captured by the game’s DevTier backer, Spacejay, while the others are from I-Novae.

THE BINDING OF ISAAC CREATOR'S NEW GAME IS CALLED 0UROBOROS
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-binding-of-isaac-creators-new-game-is-called-0uroboros/
The Binding of Isaac co-creator Edmund McMillen has announced the official title of the new project he teased earlier this summer, which is now called Øuroboros. Or 0uroboros, depending on your preference of font. The important thing is that it begins with a zero, not an O, although how important that actually is, I do not know. McMillen explained that, while the new game will feature the same protagonist as Time Fcuk, one of his previous games, it is “not at all a sequel ... [and] not remotely a puzzle game.”

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/ubisoft-offers-the-crew-for-free-available-for-download-right-now/
In order to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Ubisoft is offering PC gamers seven digital games (from June to December) free of charge. Last month, the French company offered the Rayman Origins and today the big publisher made The Crew available to everyone.

>>Luke888 has made a thread about it.

A NEW OVERWATCH PATCH IS NOW LIVE
http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-update/
Blizzard's latest update to Overwatch isn't a huge one, but it does make a couple of notable changes: The number of Plays of the Game featuring Mercy's Resurrection ability has gone down, for one, and the payload speed on the Eichenwalde map has gone up.

And now the second part:

PAC-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION 2 IS OUT ON STEAM TODAY
http://www.pcgamer.com/pac-man-championship-edition-2-is-out-on-steam-today/
Pac-Man Championship Edition was one of the best iterations of classic Pac-Man ever released, though the secret Wolfenstein 3D level is pretty good, too. So the arrival of Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 on Steam today is pretty welcome, and that launch trailer above should provide ample indication as to why.

STARCRAFT II: LEGACY OF THE VOID PATCH ADDS NEW COMMANDER, MAP AND MORE
http://www.pcgamer.com/starcraft-ii-legacy-of-the-void-patch-adds-new-commander-map-and-more/
Blizzard has issued a new patch for StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void – patch 3.6.0, to be exact – and it ushers in a few new features in addition to bug fixes and tweaks. Chief among the additions is a new co-op centric commander by the name of Alarak, an offensive hero.

HECTIC SHMUP-PLATFORMER RIVE IS OUT NOW
http://www.pcgamer.com/hectic-shmup-platformer-rive-is-out-now/
I consistently confuse Two Tribes' Rive with troubled ICO-like Rime, so I'm partly posting this news story to cement the game in my head, but mainly because this platforming shoot-'em-up hybrid from the developer of Toki Tori looks pretty intriguing in its own right. You control a spider tank in a sidescrolling, bullet-spewing world, one that comprises land, underwater, zero gravity, and look-ma-I'm-on-a-moving-train sections.

GUILD WARS 2 LIVING WORLD TRAILER TEASES RISING FLAMES
http://www.pcgamer.com/guild-wars-2-living-world-trailer-teases-rising-flames/
Guild Wars 2's Living World continues to offer a pile of free, episodic story content for the slightly aging MMO—the third season of which kicked off a couple of months ago. Now, the second episode is about to emerge from the shadows, and I hope you've stocked up on sun cream.

EVERSPACE LAUNCHES INTO EARLY ACCESS TODAY
http://www.pcgamer.com/everspace-launches-into-early-access-today/
Lovely lookin' space shooting roguelite Everspace releases into early access today, on both Steam and GOG. What is it? It's a game about exploring a procedurally generated universe in a little spaceship (no No Man's Sky-style planetary landings here), a ship you'll upgrade and improve, before you inevitably die in a big fiery explosion and yes, yes I know there'd be no oxygen for that in actual space.

CHAT WITH A LONELY AI IN EVENT[0], OUT NOW
http://www.pcgamer.com/chat-with-a-lonely-ai-in-event0-out-now/
It turns out I wrote about Event[0] way back in 2014, and in the intervening years I'd managed to forget, remember, forget then remember about this fascinating story-based game. An email just now reminds me of it again, and whadda ya know, it's one stating that Event[0] is available right now. Andy's hands-on preview, and Shaun's news post will shed more light, but the short version is it's a game where you have to make friends with a lonely spaceship AI, for a chance to escape an otherwise abandoned space station and return to Earth.

>>There are some really weird games out there...

CIVILIZATION 6 TRAILER INTRODUCES GREECE AND LEADER PERICLES
http://www.pcgamer.com/civilization-6-trailer-introduces-greece-and-leader-pericles/
Firaxis has been introducing Civilization 6's various world leaders for a good long while now; the latest is Pericles, who the developer has put in charge of Greece. Now, each country in Civ 6 gets a unique ability, and Greece's is Plato's Republic, which grants you an extra wildcard slot. Greece also gets a unique unit, the Hoplite, who receives a bonus when placed next to his Hoplitey chums. Finally, Pericles himself has a special ability, Surrounded by Glory, which provides culture bonuses depending on specific conditions.
