Done!

And I love it! Yessssssh

Mah collection is getting bigger :P!

So, now the only remaning FF games on Steam are I, II and XII, right? And FF XV is all but confirmed.

Also, I don't know why but FF VIII never interested me. I had (and still have) VII and IX on the PlayStation, but I skipped the eighth entry. And I find VII overrated.

In terms of major main stream releases

I
II
X
X-2
XII
Tactics War of the Lions

Though its possible they could add other games such as the Crystal Chronicles (would be great actually).

I doubt they'll bother with the Nintendo games, they didn't sell that well and people don't seem to care about them.

They didnt sell well in terms of the more recent ones but the first CC on Gamecube was quite popular.

To be honest I felt it being released on GCN hurt it more. The fact that the MP was done through the GBA controllers was a pain. If the game was re-released on PC ----- whoooooooa! It would be cool ^__^.

Hold on there!

Don't get carried away, as the chances of that happening are rather small (if not minuscule).

If anything, once the games listed in my last post come out on Steam completely - they'll probably focus on releasing Dragon Quest series or Secret of Mana/Chrono Trigger.

Dragon Quest would be cool. There's only one DQ game on Steam and it's not from the RPG line (DQ Heroes).

There's a story/rumor about AMD's Zen processors:

AMD Will Only Be Fabricating Octa-Core Dies For Zen x86 Processors – No Dual Core or Quad Core Flavors Initially

http://wccftech.com/amd-only-fabricating-octa-core-zen-x86-die/#ixzz47mSpgnJP

It appears that AMD will be sticking with an 8-core dies as far as the fabrication of Zen processors in the Summit Ridge platform is concerned. The mainstream desktop platform is expected to feature 8-core and 6-core variants with SMT and will not, initially, have any quad core or dual core options. On the other hand, the company is expected to launch Bristol Ridge with Quad Core and Dual Core flavors right off the bat.

A report by the Italian publication Bitsandchips.it reveals that AMD will initially only be using octa core dies in the fabrication process of Zen based processors. This method will be the optimal route to use in the production of its Summit Ridge processors because not only will it allow for cost savings (just one die) but will result in the initial wave of Zen x86 CPUs being exceptionally powerful. Since the company is going to be pitting the brand new architecture against Intel’s offerings, which has so far been ahead of the game, Octa-Core and Hexa-Core Zen processors with SMT should be able to compete effectively with their blue counterparts.

Keeping in mind how yield works, we are probably going to be looking at 8-Core and 6-Core flavors in Zen Summit Ridge platform. If the company runs into exceptionally bad yields, we might see some rare OEM spottings of 4-Core flavors as well – but that is unlikely. Once the dust settles after the initial wave, the company could decide to use different dies in the fabrication process of its future series – but for now, they appear to be sticking with an Octa-Core one. The company will be using the new AM4 socket which will allow it to unify its offerings across all platforms as well as house the new generation of Wraith Coolers. All in all, things are looking pretty good on the CPU side of things for AMD.

What do you say? Do you believe it? Would a 6/12 or 8/16 cores/threads Zen CPU tempt you?

This may interest you: 3DMark benchmarks of the GTX 1080!

First NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 3DMark Benchmarks

http://videocardz.com/59558/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-3dmark-benchmarks

I think the most interesting detail about GTX 1080 is the new memory. NVIDIA has finally used 8GB ram for its flagship card. It’s no longer an exclusive to mobile solutions. Additionally, the GDDR5X modules are clocked at 2500 MHz (which is shown as 5000+ MHz in 3DMark). However the effective clock is 10000 MHz, which means the bandwidth is somewhere around 320 GB/s (assuming it’s 256-bit wide).

On the GPU side we have a huge improvement in terms of frequencies. It is said that GTX 1080 can boost up to 1.8 GHz, with base clock around 1.6 GHz. At the time of writing we are not able to confirm the exact reference clock. For such reason I decided to avoid making comparison charts, so this post will essentially tell you what GTX 1080 is capable of and nothing more.

3DMark11 Performance preset is rendered at 1280×720 resolution. GeForce GTX 1080 scores 27683 points, which is still above overclocked GM200 cards (~23-25k). Worth noting 3DMark11 is not showing correct GPU clocks, however the new driver already supports GTX 1080 by its name.

The second benchmark we have is from FireStrike Extreme, which as you probably already know is rendered at 2560×1440 resolution. This is actually the first benchmark where you will see 1.860 GHz clock. In this scenario GTX 1080 is faster than typical overclocked GTX 980 Ti (~8700 points). However if we compare it GTX 980 Ti running at almost the same frequency (1.8GHz with LN2 cooling), GTX 1080 is actually much slower clock to clock (link).

More Nvidia news! (althought we already knew it)

NVIDIA officially confirms ‘Special Event’ on May 6th, GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 announcement imminent?

http://videocardz.com/59572/nvidia-special-event-may-6th-geforce-gtx-1080-and-gtx-1070-announcement

NVIDIA has just announced Special Live Event on May 6th, the same day when ‘Order Of 10’ countdown ends.

I think after so many leaks (and most of them originated at VC), it is no secret that NVIDIA is about to announce its first Pascal GPU for gamers, the GP104. Most of the GeForce GTX 900 cards will soon find their replacement in upgraded 16nm FinFET architecture.

We are expecting two cards tomorrow, GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. However NVIDIA might also tell us more about mobile GeForce 1000M series, which will certainly include GP104 GPUs in their portfolio. There’s also third GP104 product, codenamed GP104-150, but it’s unclear when NVIDIA is planning to announce this particular chip.

Tomorrow at 6 PM PST tune in to NVIDIA’s Twitch, where this event will be exclusively hosted.
