And with the Darksiders II "remaster", it looks like they picked the PC version of the game, touched a bit the textures and a couple more things and call it a day, and that's why the game doesn't look that much different than the old PC version.

An this would also explain why the game is already 6€ with an 80% off in this week's weekend publisher sale, which is Nordic games

http://store.steampowered.com/sale/nordic_weekend/

I'm sure at some point I will try 1404 so I'll eventually be able to compare the two for ye =P.

It's a shame about DSII though, I was hoping Nordic would have done a better job but I guess they'll eventually learn one way or the other with time.

Maybe Nordic Games has used this remaster to introduce (so to speak) one of their teams into the Darksiders franchise and the PS4/X1 development as a training for the eventual Darksiders III.

Because I hope they won't use the sales of this Deathinitive Edition game to gauge the interest in the franchise, otherwise there won't be a third game.

God I hope they don't use the remaster as a means to determine a 3rd title, especially for PC because afaik the reviews on that are mostly negative.

@Basil: I also want a lot of games, but I don't put them all on my wishlist.

Oh, and like you, I don't like sport games and I don't understand why they buy the same games year after year. Do they really have to get Fifa every year? Or NBA or Madden? C'mon! Get the game every 2 or 3 years or so to really see the changes and improvements.

/rant

Also I like having a list of what I want or have so I can make sure I dont forget :P!

Also dem sports games - I dont know either on why people buy them especially with few to no changes each year. At the very least I would wait few years...hmm maybe people buy it for the MP? Who knows lol

One of the developers on the Steam discussions forum for the game's hub confirmed that DS2 ED is released to re-introduce the series to fans or make them remember before they announce DS3...in other words confirmation that Nordic games is planning to make Darksiders 3!

There's also a huge argument going on cause of the loyalty program thing. The same dev said that if you email proof that you own licenses to the Darksiders 2 base game and the Season Pass DLC - you will get the ED version for free. I emailed....waiting to see if I get a response lol.

I finished DS2 few months ago and DS1 like almost 2 years ago.

So you put all the games you want on your wishlist to not forget about them. But can you really remember them all? Because with so many of them, I wouldn't be able to follow them and their sales.

So Darksiders 3 is going to be announced soon-ish (at next year's E3 probably)? That's great news!

^With most PC games sales coming from digital platforms (Steam, Origin, UPlay, GMG, GOG, etc) I doubt we'll ever be able to track those sales without their help. And they won't help.

Anyway, a couple days ago I complained about the lack of news. I won't make that mistake again.

True, but knowing that physical sales are just the point of the iceberg (except for particularly well priced physical collections or rich collector editions filled with maps, old style complete paper manuals and gadgets), we can get at least a vague idea, and when Steam and others release their numbers, we can get a more precise idea and try some rough estimates for other titles, based on similar ones that we have more infos about. Not very precise, but better than nothing...
About news, sometimes it looks like they come slow and scarce, then suddenly... About this, an updated VGC DB, with the possibility of adding new titles to users wishlists and collections fully restored, could help a little, when it worked I used that feature quite often both to track my existing backlog and to quickly add interesting new titles to my wishlist, sometimes getting inspiration from other users collections and lists, not just from news, reviews and forum posts.

But not every genre has the same % of retail vs. digital sales, and even then it greatly varies from game to game. For example, I'm sure The Witcher 3 got most of its sales through digital copies, but right now the game is cheaper on retail than on GOG or Steam, so the retail sales will have increased. If you pick its retail sales today an try to calculate the digital sales for it, the results will be off by a big margin.

Another example of problems with that system is Cities Skylines, which was available on Steam long before a physical, retail version of the game went on sale.

As for the second part of your post, I completely agree on everything.

Well, sure as hell there are fewer guys that got the game on GOG than on Steam, so Nordic Games are losing less money from that offer than the other way around.

But yes, bad PR from start to end.

Take-Two revealed – via its financial results – that Gearbox’s first person shooter, Battleborn, has been delayed until May 3rd. Take-Two did not reveal the reasons of this delay. The game was meant to be released on February 9th, meaning that it got delayed a month (probably due to re-scheduling and not because the team needed more time).

>>Btw, Take-Two financial results can be found here. But the summary is that they just made a lot of money than a year ago or the last quarter.

THE WITCHER IS BEING MADE INTO A MOVIE

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-is-being-made-into-a-movie/

The Witcher is the sort of video game franchise that just about begs to be made into a movie. In fact, it's already happened, sort of: While the vast majority of people in North America first encountered Geralt and company through the game trilogy, he originally came to life in a series of short stories and novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

>>Don't worry, Uwe Boll is not mentioned anywhere.

INVISIBLE, INC DLC TO ADD AGENTS AND LENGTHEN CAMPAIGN

http://www.pcgamer.com/invisible-inc-dlc-to-add-agents-and-lengthen-campaign/

The Contingency Plan expansion for turn-based heist game Invisible, Inc arrives on November 12, adding four new agents, extra side objectives and a mysterious "complication" that promises to lengthen main story campaign. Endless mode is getting ten new levels and two extra starting programs will give you new ways to diddle security systems. Corps will respond with "new guards, new Daemons and new security systems". There's no mention of a price, yet.

And lastely, two news about Overwatch:

OVERWATCH WILL RELEASE IN JUNE 2016, LEAKED POSTER REVEALS

http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-will-release-in-june-2016-leaked-poster-reveals/

The awkward Overwatch leaks continue, with a leaked poster pointing to a 'Spring 2016' release for Blizzard's colourful squad shooter. If you check out the fine print at the bottom, the game is expected to release "on or before June 21, 2016". That's no surprise really – the game is in beta at the moment – but the poster only serves to raise more questions: what pricing model is Blizzard planning?

BLIZZARD'S OVERWATCH MAY NOT BE FREE TO PLAY AFTER ALL

http://www.pcgamer.com/blizzards-overwatch-may-not-be-free-to-play-after-all/

The general assumption so far—although to be clear, Blizzard hasn't yet said one way or the other—is that the upcoming FPS Overwatch will most likely be free-to-play. Today, however, Kotaku cast some doubt on that by reporting that GameStop is now taking preorders for the game, which it says will be a multi-platform release and cost $60.
