One of my mates on G+ shared this with me recently: http://mashable.com/2015/11/04/zero-latency-virtual-reality/#ktBSWogKmPqr

Damn this reminds me of the days when I played laser blast (laser tag for US players). I can definitely see this becoming the new form of laser game, only with VR instead of wearing vests and fighting humans.

Around the Network

I've been into PC gaming for years but it's largely been based on RTS games and the odd MMO or two. Jumped in fully back in late 2012 and since then it's been my main with over 200 games so far (I like to be selective in what I want and where I get it from).

@Bofferbrauer: Thanks for the head's up. I went to see what they have today and I found something that I didn't expect. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is 9.09 € with a 50% off sale... but the same game has a 50% off sale on Steam and costs 7.99 €.

I don't know why, but I thought that the games had the same price on all those digital platforms and finding out that this isn't the case has surprised me.

No problem, you're welcome

The prices usually differ a little bit between the different shops. The reasons are generally different shares of the sales which the shops take, although with GOG the bonus goodies (the digitalized feelies) might be another reason, as does their DRM-free approach (some might fear for lost sales, thus increasing the price to break even). There may be other reasons too, as some games are cheaper in one shop but other games instead are more expensive in the same shop. And then there are regional differences of course due to currency exchange rates and cost of living.

For me for instance, Steam had a big drawback for years since it was the most expensive shop and has DRM on top of that. Which is why I bought games at GOG right from their launch on, and before that on Impulse (when it was still Stardock and not GameStop), Gamersgate (when they still had direct downloads and not just Steam Keys) and Desura (before GOG started to sell Indies). Due to this I only got a Steam account in January 2013, and even then only because both Stardock and Paradox Interactive where giving out free games over the holidays and kickstarter betas (aka early access)

I got into Steam in 2010 only because I had a Dirt 2 voucher that came with me GFX card, but it wasn't until I found Steam cards that I started buying games from them.

Unfortunately that's the reason I don't use to buy games from other platforms, I don't want to give my credit card details on the internet .

GOG doesn't save your card details - you have to type them in every time you buy something there. So your data would be safe there at least

So I just checked Ubisoft's launch trailer for the new ANNO and someone in the comments section pointed out this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/UBI-Soft-5050013393489-Anno-2205/dp/B00ZGBC6GE/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1446598385&sr=8-5&keywords=anno+2205

With all the recent PS4 VR articles is making me wonder when VG is going to try covering the other VR kits like OR and Vive.

@axumblade: Dirt 2 was (and still is) a great game. Too bad it had the horrible Windows Live thing and hasn't been updated to remove it

@BasilZero: You have way too many games . And how can you have 766 games on your wishlist?! That's madness.

@Bofferbrauer: I didn't know that, thanks for sharing. I'll have to think about it.

@Chazore: I thought you did get into the OverWatch beta, sorry.

That VR laser experience looks very intense, and as they say, perfect for theme parks or other similar business.

Anno 2205 to consoles? From the Steam reviews the game seems to be very dumbled down compared to previous ones, but to the point of playing it with a controller... I don't know.

When Brett, Machina , Tachikoma, other coders, game DB admins and all the staff will have both caught up with sales numbers and revamped, updated and synced again the game DB, I'm sure we'll have nice surprises about PC games too, that will confirm what we can already deduce from the constant flow of new games and the partial data about sales and user base we get from Steam. In the mid and longer term I expect quite much from Star Citizen, could it become another WoW scale success for those that prefer sci-fi to fantasy settings?

^With most PC games sales coming from digital platforms (Steam, Origin, UPlay, GMG, GOG, etc) I doubt we'll ever be able to track those sales without their help. And they won't help.

Anyway, a couple days ago I complained about the lack of news. I won't make that mistake again.

MARIO KART RECREATED IN UNREAL ENGINE 4 WITH MULTIPLAYER SUPPORT – AVAILABLE NOW FOR DOWNLOAD

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/mario-kart-recreated-in-unreal-engine-4-with-multiplayer-support-available-now-for-download/

And the time has finally come. CryZENx has released his Mario Kart Multiplayer project in Unreal Engine 4.10. We strongly suggest downloading while the link is still live, because we’re certain that Nintendo will – sooner or later – send CryZENx a C&D letter. So go ahead and have fun while you still can.

>>This is my opinion, but while the graphics are better, it lacks the Nintendo touch or charm that makes their games special. Also, as the article says, get it while you can, because with Nintendo involved, it will be shoot down soon (*Luigi's death stare*).

http://www.pcgamer.com/ark-survival-evolveds-giganotosaurus-can-chomp-walls/

Ark's latest dinosaur, the Giganotosaurus Furiosa, is a bottomless well of rage that can eat its way through stone walls and unseat riders whenever it has a temper tantrum. It's slow, but with every hit its "rage reaction" makes its bite more powerful and it gains more stamina. The developers refer to it as a "captial beast of war"—the Super Star Destroyer of the dinosaur world, then.
