Lots of news today. I'll start with the ones not involving games, and all of them involve Steam in one way or the other

STEAM CONTROLLER: our first impressions

http://www.pcgamer.com/steam-controller-impressions/

The first time we got our hands on the Steam Controller, way back in early 2014, we weren't too impressed. But it's been a year and a half of iteration since then, and at long last the controller is shipping out to PC gamers everywhere. Is it better now that Valve's added an analog stick and tweaked its button layout? Can those trackpads replicate the experience of using a mouse?

STEAM LINK and STEAM CONTROLLER don't work with Macs - yet

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-10-19-steam-link-and-steam-controller-dont-work-with-macs-yet

The Steam Link and Steam Controller currently do not work with Macs.

The Steam Link currently doesn't stream from Macs, and the Steam Controller doesn't currently support gamepad emulation on Macs (if you opt into the Steam Beta client, keyboard/mouse emulation will be functional).

In an email to customers (below), Valve apologised, blaming the problem on "some temporary software issues".

Valve admits Steam customer support is awful (again), but says it's working on it

http://www.pcgamer.com/valve-admits-steam-customer-support-is-awful-again-but-says-its-working-on-it/

Have you ever wondered why Steam's customer support is so awful? I sure have, especially over the past few weeks, which I will say no more about. Fortunately, Valve is aware of just how bad the situation is, and while it may be cold comfort for anyone currently waiting for help with a screwy Steam account [ahem], it's got a plan in place to make things better.

>>Personally I've used it twice and both times they were pretty good. After reading this and what happened to others (have they answered your problem, Basil?) I think I was very lucky.

HARD WEST launch date announced

http://www.pcgamer.com/hard-west-launch-date-announced/

We recently called Hard West "one of the games we were looking forward to most" ahead of this year's PAX Prime. It follows the adventures of a hard man named Warren, who "will walk a treacherous path of chaos and revenge to punish those who wronged him." It sounds like pretty much every Western ever, except that this particular spin also happens to be enshrouded by the supernatural.

Ouch it seems Sword Coast is getting mixed reviews, some are already calling for refunds with some other more hardcore D&D followers claiming that it's not really staying true to the rules and nature of D&D.

Overlord however is getting negative reviews on the spot with it apparently being simple and too easy with hardly any difficulty curve and not looking great in some places.

I know Steam reviews aren't perfect but honestly when I saw the overwhelming praise from fans for the Pirate Warriors 3 port I knew something bad was up when it turned out to be a worse port than the PS4 and they still forgave and praised it to hell but then there will be times when a game is actually bad and the user reviews do actually point that out, for these two recent releases I feel I'm more or less on their side than the devs, we still get devs releasing games where they don't try hard enough compared to those that do.

Also Rebel galaxy is released and I bought it for me and a friend, hoping to give it a spin in a few minutes and give my take on it.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

From what I read Pirate Warriors 3 bugs appear mostly late game, so it would take a while for people to notice them. The Overlord spin-off however has flaws noticeable from the very beginning. Honestly I think this and Sword Coast would have benefited from spending a few months in Early Access.

It's not just bugs that are in PW3 it's the actual visuals as well and they still haven't been sorted out either which is why I'm unlikely to support the PC port if they aren't going to give me a decent one at that. They even cut out the co-op feature as well.

Steam reviews are always tricky. There's plenty of reviews from people that have played the game for less than one hour, which to me is something unthinkable.
