Well, well, look what Kotaku has found out:

Sources: Warner Bros. Knew That Arkham Knight PC Was A Mess For Months

http://kotaku.com/sources-warner-bros-knew-that-arkham-knight-pc-was-a-1714915219

You can’t buy Batman: Arkham Knight for the PC right now. Warner Bros. pulled it from digital and physical shelves last week, after players found that the PC version had critical performance issues. From what sources tell Kotaku, however, this shouldn’t have been a surprise for Warner Bros.

“I will say that it’s pretty rich for WB to act like they had no idea the game was in such a horrible state,” said one quality assurance tester who worked on the game for years. “It’s been like this for months and all the problems we see now were the exact same, unchanged, almost a year ago.”

Two sources, requesting anonymity to avoid jeopardizing their careers, spoke with Kotaku over the past week in hopes of explaining how the broken PC version of Arkham Knight made it out the door. They both said that Warner Bros. was aware of the many issues facing Arkham Knight on PC and that the publisher chose to ship the game regardless, not to maniacally screw over customers—but because they believed it was good enough.

Warner Bros. did not return my multiple requests for comment.

Way to go, Warner!

Well, well, well. "PC Gaming is dead", said console gamers. "Mobile is the future", said those who don't know what they are talking about the ones who jump to conclusions too early. I guess no one told that to game developers...

EUROPEAN DEVS ARE MOVING FROM MOBILE TO PC

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2015-07-02-european-devs-are-moving-from-mobile-to-pc

"A GDC Europe survey has provided further evidence that developers are moving away from the crowded mobile market and towards the PC."

...

"62 per cent of respondents will release their next games on PC, compared to 50 per cent for mobile devices. In terms of their last games, 46 per cent of respondents choe PC and only 40 per cent chose mobile. The latter is particularly significant because it represents a reversal. In last year's survey, 40 per cent chose mobile for their last game, and 38 per cent chose PC.

And this trend is likely to continue next year. An impressive 67 per cent of respondents are targeting PC for their next project, compared to 53 per cent for mobile."

And from the original survey with over 250 professionals http://www.gdceurope.com/news/?p=238#more-238

Steam Stats for June are available:

GTX 970 gained the highest percentage share (0.40%) and is now the most popular graphics card on Steam.

GTX 960 (available for 4 months) gained the second highest percentage share (0.30%) and is now more popular than the whole R9-series (255+260+270+270X+280+280X+285+290+290X+295X2, available for 21 months).

Ratio Maxwell2.0 : R9-series rose from 2.68:1 (January) to 5.21:1 (June)

That's what happens when you give your adversary +6 months without a new competing product.

Performance is important, but for non savvy consumers, something new is better than something old. And while the 970 is also a very good card, the 960 is an excellent example of this.

I'm sure that every PC gamer knows about Logitech, and that most of us have used one of their products, either a keyboard or a mouse. Well, say goodbyt to Logitech

Logitech loses the tech with new Logi brand

http://www.cnet.com/news/logitech-loses-the-tech-with-new-logi-brand/

Say goodbye to the old Logitech, say hello to the new Logi.

Little did we know, but since 2013 the folks running computer peripherals maker Logitech have been working "behind the scenes to reinvent the company, shaking things up culturally and through its product innovation." To reflect those changes and a shift to a more design-centric attitude, it's now rolling out a new logo and new brand.

"Logitech has undergone huge changes, so we've created an identity that is an expression of who we are today and who we will be moving forward," said Alastair Curtis, chief design officer at Logitech. "A company transformation of this magnitude should come with an equally bold transformation of its brand."

Don't expect the Logitech brand to be retired any time soon; it's going to stick around for a while, with the new logo you see below. But in the coming months you'll see the Logi label on select new products in existing categories, as well as new categories the company will be expanding into.

These are the new logos

I don't know about you, but I find this change ridiculous and for the worse.

For those eagerly awaiting the arrival of VR, extremetech did an article explaining how the market is shapping up, and it's not very enticing.

Basically, it's better to wait until we see how the market shapes up.

Steam stats for July are available: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/videocard/?sort=pct

79.70% of the PCs in the hardware survey are now DX11-compatible, next month 80% should be reached. If we assume that the average growth of Steam accounts since February has stayed at 5 million per month (so the same growth rate as between October and February), the number of Steam users with Maxwell GPUs (750/ti+960+970+980) has improved from 7.6 million to 11.4 million within the last 3 months, a gain of 3.8 million. The Radeon R7/R9-200-series gained another 0.4 million units in these 3 months, so 4.2 million gain together.

For comparison:  in the last quarter 3.0 million PS4 consoles, 1.4 million Xbox consoles (XBO+360) and 0.47 million Wii U consoles were shipped.

GTX 970 and GTX 960 gained again the biggest shares in July, the GT 740 is now individually listed (0.30% share are needed for that). GTX 980 Ti, R7 300-series, R9 300-series and R9 Fury series still haven't gained that much, so they are hidden in "others" for now... perhaps next month.

I'm not as confident as you when it comes to reach an 80% for DX11 compatible cards.

Not only the percentage only improved by 0.26% over the last month, so going by that rate they'd need 2 months to reach 80%, but if Valve is serious about the survey, they should start tracking DX12 compatible cards next month too, so the percentage of DX11 cards could go down.
